FanDuel DFS Football Cash Game Picks For Week 6

Welcome to week 6 of our FanDuel cash game advice. This a week where the cheap Running Back options just aren’t viable for cash games. The pricing has caught up to those who are consistent, and the matchups just aren’t good enough for people like Terrance West to trust this week. With going for higher priced RB’s, we will need to be creative and find other positions to go cheaper with. This means either no stud receiver this week, or go with a sub $7,000 QB. I will usually prefer the latter as it is much easier for lower priced QB’s to outperform their salary than lower priced receivers.

I will give you a few options at positions, and then at the end say who I am going with for my main cash game lineup. Now let us jump into the picks. Players are listed by position, and then ordered by the ones I like most.

Quarterbacks:

Alex Smith ($6,800) - As I noted in the beginning, to fit in the higher priced RB’s, you will have to go cheaper at either QB or WR. I choose QB with Alex Smith looking like a great option. The Raiders pass defense have allowed around 22 FanDuel points a game to opposing QB’s, and that is with Mariota playing horribly. Alex Smith is ultra consistent, and as we have seen in the past, when in a great matchup he plays like a top 12 guy. A type of performance where we see Smith go for 250 yards and 2 TD’s is the expectation here. That type of game will net Smith 18 points, clearly above what he needs to return value.

Ben Roethlisberger ($8,700) - The narrative surrounding Big Ben and why not to use him this week is one I don’t buy. The claim is that Big Ben is worse on the road than at home. While looking at stats this is true, when you are facing a defense as bad as the Dolphins is doesn’t matter. We just saw Marcus Mariota light up the Dolphins defense, and Mariota hadn’t looked good all year. This is gonna be a big game for Roethlisberger.

Running Backs:

Le’Veon Bell ($9,300) - The Dolphins defense again is terrible. That is where this is coming from. Even with a high price, Bell is always guaranteed 20+ touches and against this terrible defense, I don’t see why he won’t get to over 120 yards and at least 1 score.

LeSean McCoy ($8,200) - Surprisingly McCoy has been fairly consistent so far this season. This looks like the guy we thought we knew back in Philadelphia. The matchup this week is prime for the taking with the Bills facing the 49ers. The 49ers have allowed 130 rushing yards or more in each of the last 4 games. This looks like a game where McCoy has not only a high floor, but also a high ceiling.

Jordan Howard ($7,700) - A rise in his salary is still not enough to stop me from using him as a cash game option. The Jaguars defense has been just as bad as last season. As we noticed last year and so far this year, they get behind early in games. This will bode well for the run game and Jordan Howard. Use him with confidence if you can’t fit the top two guys in.

Wide Receivers:

Antonio Brown ($9,700) - He is always the top option in cash games at receiver, it just comes down to a question of whether you can fit his salary in or not. Even at this increased price he is still a great play.

Amari Cooper ($7,100) - The Raiders run game has been virtually non-existent this year, and it appears that the Raiders are okay with that. They have given Carr freedom to run this offense and throw the ball as much as he can. This has allowed a lot of targets to go towards Cooper this season. Last week we finally saw some of those targets turn into big production. The volume that Cooper will receive coupled with the Chiefs defense allowing a lot of deep plays will allow Cooper to be a safe option this week.

Jeremy Maclin ($6,900) - To go with the Alex Smith pick is Maclin. This year hasn’t been kind to Maclin, but that is bound to turn around this week. The Raiders defense has done a bad job of trying to defend receivers this season. Maclin has still seen a heavy dose of targets, so against a team like the Raiders this will turn into a great performance.

Cameron Meredith ($5,400) - It may seem odd to see a guy who has had only one big week become a cash game option, but at this price point it is hard to pass up. Meredith played in 95% of the offensive snaps last week, and was targeted 12 times. It is clear that the Bears and Brian Hoyer trust him as a top pass option in this offense. This week against a Jaguars defense that as I said with Jordan Howard is bad, Meredith should see another big week here. All of the defenses attention is still going towards Jeffery, which is leaving players like Meredith and Zach Miller more opportunities.

Tight Ends:

Jimmy Graham ($6,900) - If we take away the Broncos game last week, the Falcons have allowed at least one TD to a Tight End in each game. I am willing to throw out that Broncos game since Paxton Lynch was starting, and the Broncos rarely use a TE anyways. Not only have TE’s scored against the Falcons, but they also average 7.5 receptions for 85 yards over the other 4 games. This is perfect the perfect time to use Graham and get a big game out of the TE position.

Zach Miller ($5,800) - First thing here is make sure that Miller is playing. From the looks of it this shouldn’t be an issue, but with him being listed as questionable always double check. This is quite simple though, as Miller has been getting his looks under Hoyer. Not only that, but he is getting looks in the redzone as well. Use him if you can’t pay up for Graham.

Kicker:

Nick Novak ($4,500) - He is minimum priced on an offense that has been stalling in the redzone. Oh and the Colts have allowed the second most field goal attempts so far this year.

Defense:

Buffalo Bills ($4,800) - Listen I think Colin Kaepernick will look pretty good the rest of the year, but this week won’t be a good one for him. This Bills defense has been doing a great job of capitalizing on opponents mistakes. With a high tempo Chip Kelly offense coming to town, there will be even more chances for sacks and turnovers in this one for the Bills.
