Week 6 Start Em, Sit Em

By: Armando Marsal

Quarterbacks

Start Em

Russell Wilson, SEA vs. ATL -€” Coming off of a bye week, Wilson should be well rested. He had his best game of the season in Week 4, throwing for 309 yards and three touchdowns. It was the first time this season that he threw for multiple touchdowns in a game and topped 300 passing yards. He faces the Falcons this week who are giving up 303.2 passing yards per game and have surrendered 14 passing touchdowns, which is tied for most in the league. He should be able to exploit this matchup and score some fantasy points this week.

Other Starts

Carson Palmer, ARI vs. NYJ

Alex Smith, KC at OAK

Blake Bortles, JAC at CHI

Matthew Stafford, DET vs. LAR

Sleeper Alert: Dak Prescott, DAL at GB

Sit Em

Philip Rivers, SD at DEN -€” Rivers has not topped 300 passing yards against the Broncos since the 2010-11 season. He is averaging 223.5 passing yards per game in his last 10 games against them and has thrown 15 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He has lost seven of his last eight games against the Broncos and in the last two seasons has thrown the same amount of interceptions as he has touchdowns against them. The Denver defense is giving up 208.6 passing yards per game and have surrendered just three passing touchdowns. In three of their five games, the Broncos have held opposing quarterbacks to fewer than 200 passing yards. There is no need to roll him out this week.

Other Sits

Joe Flacco, BAL at BYG

Andy Dalton, CIN at NE

Kirk Cousins, WAS vs. PHI

Bust Alert: Matt Ryan, ATL at SEA

Running Backs

Start Em

Lamar Miller, HOU vs. IND -€” Miller has underwhelmed this season, but continues to receive a heavy workload and finally gets a great matchup. The Colts are giving up 173.2 total yards per game to running backs and have surrendered seven touchdowns. They are also yielding the third most fantasy points per game. Miller has yet found the end zone and is averaging just 3.7 yards per carry this season, but I expect him to boost up that average and start finding the end zone this week. Fantasy owners who are losing hope on him, should feel much happier after this weakened.

Other Starts

Christine Michael, SEA vs. ATL

Jordan Howard, CHI vs. JAX

C.J. Anderson, DEN vs. SD

Sleeper alert: Ryan Mathews, PHI at WAS

Sit Em

Matt Jones, WAS vs. PHI -€” The Eagles have yet allowed more than 84 rushing yards in a game to running backs this season. They are giving up 3.7 yards per carry and 54.75 rushing yards per game, while only allowing two touchdowns. Jones has received over 20 touches in a game just once this season. He has been inconsistent and finds himself in a tough matchup. If you are able to, it may be best to keep Jones on the bench this week and find a better back plug in.

Other Sits

Jeremy Hill, CIN at NE

Arian Foster, MIA vs. PIT

Isaiah Crowell, CLE at TEN

Jalen Richard, OAK vs. KC

Bust Alert: Matt Forte, NYJ at ARI

Wide Receivers

Start Em

Will Fuller, HOU vs. IND -€” Fuller should bounce back this week after a tough matchup last week. He has a favorable matchup against the Colts who are giving up 15.4 receptions and 188 receiving yards per game to opposing receivers, to go along with three touchdowns. Fuller is averaging eight targets per game and accounts for 21.5 percent of the Texans target share. In home games, he is averaging 5.3 receptions and 97.3 receiving yards per game. With Vontae Davis blanketing DeAndre Hopkins, Fuller could see some extra looks. Roll him out this week.

Other Starts

Jeremy Maclin, KC at OAK

Doug Baldwin, SEA vs. ATL

Julian Edelman, NE vs. CIN

Sleeper Alert: Michael Thomas, NO vs. CAR

Sit Em

Tyrell Williams, SD at DEN-€” The only touchdown scored by a receiver against the Broncos this season was in Week 1 by Kelvin Benjamin. Since then, they have allowed no touchdowns to receivers despite playing against T.Y. Hilton, Julio Jones, A.J. Green, and Mike Evans. Denver is giving up just 103 receiving yards and 8.8 receptions per game to receivers, while allowing just one touchdown. They give up the fewest fantasy points per game to receivers. This is a bad spot for any of the Chargers receivers and they might be better left on the bench.

Other Sits

Terrell Pryor, CLE at TEN

DeVante Parker, MIA vs. PIT

Allen Hurns, JAX at CHI

Bust Alert: DeSean Jackson, WAS vs. PHI

Tight Ends

Start Em

Jimmy Graham, SEA vs. ATL

Gary Barnidge, CLE at TEN

Travis Kelce, KC at OAK

Sit Em

Hunter Henry, SD at DEN

Dennis Pitta, BAL at NYG

Defense

Start Em

Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts

Denver Broncos vs. San Diego Chargers

Sit Em

Los Angeles Rams at Detroit Lions
