Shane Larkin is running out of chances, but I'd try him again tonight...
Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The excitement of the holidays has worn off.

You're starting to get back into the swing of things.

Your resolution to work out is losing strength.

Fried chicken smells better than ever.

There's always 2017...

Let's begin.

Shane Larkin, BKN, PG ($4300)

I recommended Larkin last game, and he made me look bad. A smarter pundit would retreat, but I'm not going to. Starter's minutes are SUPPOSED to catapult this excellent backup 1-guard into a Fantasy beast. But his first attempt at beastdom yielded 4 points on 2/7 shooting, with 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 turnovers. That's obviously not going to cut it, but I'm saying give him another chance. If he fails again tonight, he clearly can't be counted on. But in the perpetual search for upside, Larkin is being given every opportunity to succeed...

Jamal Crawford, LAC, SG ($3800)

Old reliable hasn't been this year, but he's in the midst of a hot stretch. He's been averaging just over 13.0 PPG the last 6 games - which isn't going to win the day for you, but isn't bad for the price. He could always go higher (or lower), so he's a pretty decent value pick. If you're running low on cash in the shooting guard slot, you could do worse than Jamal...

Jared Dudley, WAS, SF ($3900)

Plagued with inconsistency his entire career, Dudley also has the potential to go off on any given night. He's got one of the cleanest roto lines of his career this season, and he dropped 17 the other day. He's my roll the dice pick tonight, but he's got as good a chance as any other swing to have a good game. Only worth slotting in if you need a low-end risky play...

Mirza Teletovic, PHX, PF ($3900)

I can't recommend any Phoenix Suns in good conscience without telling you how volatile they all are. Weird rotations yield unpredictable value from day to day. But he's been averaging almost 15,0 PPG the last 3 games - with lots of counting stats. Good shooting % too. He doesn't need a lot of minutes to produce, and he's been getting over 23 MPG the last 3 games - which is more than enough to get numbers for Mirza. Underrated asset this season.

Nikola Jokic, DEN, C ($4500)

After a minor injury, Jokic is returning to his super rookie status. Last game, he went 9 & 10 with 2 AST, 2 STL & a BLK. His rookie splits get better every month, and there's no reason to believe this won't keep happening. He's one of the best-kept secrets in the NBA right now, so I'd highly recommend him as a value pick in your C slot. A breakout game is coming. Get ready...

So there's 5 guys that should help you for minimal cost.

Unlike Brenda in accounting.

She doesn't do ANYTHING.

Gawd.
