English Premier League Week 23 Year to Date Observations - Look Forward to Week 24 beyond. How will prospected moves like Alexander Pato and Alex Texeira or moves like Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray project going forward?

John E. Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports

The fantasy effect of moves around Deadline Day.

Transfers both existing and potential.

Rumored Moves:
Alex Teixeira (26 years old, attacking Midfielder) - coming off an electric season with 22 league goals in 15 matches with Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukranian Premier League) he is being highly coveted by both Liverpool and Chelsea. He has voiced his desire to leave his current club and is quite interested in getting into the English Premier league. It took him time to come into his natural talent but he is entering his prime right now adding to his allure from the teams. If he joined Chelsea he would be with Willian who was a former Shakhtar player. If he transfers, he could provide an immediate impact to either Liverpool or Chelsea, both of whom are in need of an added push right now.

Alexander Pato (26 years old, Forward) - The previous AC Milan star has been on loan to Sao Paulo this year for 30 matches where he has 10 goals. Chelsea is primed to land him which should help their offensive woes. He is an agile player and has a definite knack for finding the gaps when he fires shots. If he can remain healthy he should have a successful year with Chelsea. Despite him not tapping fully into the lofty expectations, he is still a gifted player who knows how to score.

Loic Remy (29 years old, Striker) - Amidst a tumultuous year for Chelsea, their striker, Loic is being coveted by a few of the lower EPL teams currently in: Crystal Palace, Swansea City, Newcastle United and possibly Aston Villa. Newcastle appears to be the front runner to land the striker who is looking for some more playing time as he has 9 appearances and 1 goal with Chelsea in league play. In 2013-2014 he went on loan to Newcastle and scored 14 goals in 26 appearances so he is familiar with success with the club. He could provide a healthy bump for any of these teams.

Already Transferred:
Andros Townsend (24 years old, Midfielder) - Andros will be moving from the one of the hottest teams to the basement as he moves from Tottenham Hotspur to Newcastle United  with Newcastle to take on the remainder on the last 18 months of his current contract. He has only appeared in 3 matches this year and hasn't played a full 90 minutes since last January BUT this move should allow him some more playing time on a team who will covet his abilities. While the upswing in minutes will help his point production, moving to Newcastle will naturally provide a more challenging environment to score, watch but watch with caution.

Benik Afobe (22 years old, Striker) - Moving from the Wolverhampton Wanderers to Bournemouth was warmly welcomed as he graduated back into the Premier League. While his work with the Wanderers was good, his brief tenure with Bournemouth has been excellent with 2 goals in 3 appearances. His first match saw some missed chances which he capitalized on during his 2nd game against Norwich City. Bournemouth has gone 2-1-1 over their last 4 and is playing very well as of late. Benik could be a good pick up for some points certainly over the next few games.

Charlie Austin (26 years old, Striker) - This is hot and cold. He played well with Parks Queen Rangers with 10 goals in 16 contests this year. His first game showed a goal despite him entering late in the game. He has the skills and surrounding players if he can get feeds from Sadio Mane to get some goals but playing time will be the question with Graziano Pelle, Shane Long and others.

Demarai Gray (19 years old, Midfielder) - Highly touted Demerai came from Birmingham City over to Leicester City and has provided 2 appearances for The Foxes. He is serving as a substitute and while he had an assist in the FA Cup match against Tottenham Hotspur it might be premature for him to provide substantive value this year. Christian Eriksen might connect with him a bit if he gets playing time.

Mohamed Elneny (23 years old, Midfielder) - Joining Arsenal from Basel (Swiss Super League), Mohamed is blessed with great vision on the field and he reads the play as it progresses well. He will serve among the deeper of the midfielders in the 4-2-3-1 Arsenal system. This could be a long term replace3ment for Mathieu Flamini so look for him to provide you more with clean sheets than point production. If he can connect with Mesut Ozil and stay healthy he can be a force for them.

Sam Byram (22 years old, Midfielder/Defender) - The Leeds United back moved to West Ham United on January 20th and has only played one game so far. His first match was not an easy one facing against Manchester City. He did so as a substitute with no real prep for the matchup earlier in the day. Leeds had 6 clean sheets in Championship league. While not an all-star he should help solidify West Ham's mediocre defense.
