I'm not gonna lie: I'm hungover.
It's so loud.
Somebody make it stop.
Let's begin, reluctantly.
Isaiah Canaan, PHI, PG ($3900)
Everybody gets a shot on the Sixers, apparently. The latest beneficiary is Canaan. Averaging 15.0 PPG the last 3 games, it's time to dust him off the sleeper list. While his assist totals are pretty much non-existent, he's getting counting stats everywhere else. He's also shot at least 50% from the field each of the last 3 games - so he's efficient as well right now. Anything can happen on the volatile Philadelphia 76ers, but for the dough, I highly recommend Isaiah today.
Jamal Crawford, LAC, SG ($4300)
My love/hate relationship with Jamal Crawford continues. He's been a proven scorer his entire NBA career, but Father Time has caught up to him this season. He's got one foot out the door. He's either a volume scorer - or a volatile disappointment. He had a modest game of 13 points (and not much else) last game, but hadn't scored less than 15 in the 6 previous games. His off-game could be the signal of a cold period - or simply a blip on the radar. I'll take the risk and say give him a whirl. But this is strictly a cash-saving option today...
Robert Covington, PHI, SF ($4900)
I picked him up in Yahoo's friends and family league while Covington was at his lowest. He's paid off slightly, and I think he's a good buy in DFS right now. Probably the most volatile asset in the league, the enigmatic Robert Covington has been producing many counting stat goodies the last 4 games. He had fallen off a cliff for weeks before that, so he could disappear completely again at any moment. But last game he scored 8 points with 11 rebounds, 2 3PM, 3 steals and an assist. He's unreliable, but very intriguing. He's produced lots of DFS goodies the last 4 games, so I'd give him the benefit of the doubt until he spontaneously combusts again...
Terrence Jones, HOU, PF ($4700)
Jones has been on fire lately. After a terribly inconsistent season littered with the usual TJ injuries, Terrence has started to turn it on. Averaging 16.0 PPG and 3.0 BLK the last 2 games, he's also 15/23 from the field the last 2 games combined. He is very much in the zone. He's another volatile asset, but definitely been more hot than cold in 2016. Smells like a deal to me today...
Salah Mejri, DAL, C ($3700)
This one is a little out of left field, but I'm a gambling man. Only for the biggest risk-takers, Mejri has lots of upside for the bargain basement price. He rarely plays - and didn't do much last game. But the game before (when he actually got PT), Mejri dropped 17 & 9 while shooting 7/8 from the field. He's more of a hunch pick than anything else, but if you've only got pennies left, you could do worse than Mejri's considerable upside... If you're feeling lucky, give him a try.
So that's 5 value picks while dealing with a hangover.
I really want a greasy breakfast, but that could just be an excuse for bacon.
Mmmm. Bacon...
I think I've stopped being productive.
