Week 16 of the Fantasy Hockey season begins on Monday the 18th of January 2016. If you haven't already done so be sure and check your league rules regarding the trading deadline as well as any limits restrictions your individual league might require. Here's what I have for you this week!
NHL Teams with four games this week are the Chicago Blackhawks, Colorado Avalanche, Edmonton Oilers, Los Angeles Kings, Ottawa Senators, Pittsburgh Penguins, San Jose Sharks and the St Louis Blues.
The Montreal Canadians and the New York Islanders have two games this week while every other NHL team has three games on their schedules.

Anaheim Ducks (Fri-Sat), Carolina Panthers (Thur-Fri), Chicago Blackhawks (Thur-Fri), Colorado (Fri-Sat), Detroit Red Wings (Fri-Sat), Edmonton (Mon-Tue), Florida Panthers (Fri-Sat), Los Angeles (Sat-Sun), Minnesota Wild (Wed-Thurs), New York Islanders (Fri-Sat), Ottawa (Thur-Fri), Pittsburgh (Sat-Sun) and San Jose (Sat-Sun).
WEEK 16 FANTASY HOCKEY WAIVER WIRE OPTIONS
Defense: Niklas Hjalmarsson and the Blackhawks have four games this week and over his past five he's scored 1 goal with 2 helpers on just 3 shots on goal for a plus minus rating of plus 6 skating roughly 23 minutes a night on the Blackhawks top line of defense. Over the past 5 games Hjalmarsson recorded 6 penalty minutes with 24 minutes on the season and is available in just over 70 percent of all Major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
Defense: Nick Holden and the Avalanche have four games this week and over his past five games Holden has 5 assists and 6 shots on goal for a plus minus rating of zero skating 23 minutes a night on the Avalanche top defensive unit as well as spending a fair amount of time on the Avalanche second power play unit. Over the past five games Holden had 2 penalty minutes and 12 on the season and is available in just over 80 percent of all Major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
Defense: Andrej Sekera and the Oilers have four games this week and over the past five games Sekera has 1 goal and an assist with 13 shots on goal for a plus minus rating of -1 skating roughly 21 minutes a night on the Oilers second line of defense as well as spending roughly 23 percent of time on the Oilers power play. Sekera has just 6 minutes in penalties this season and is available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
Right Wing/Center: Mika Zibanejad and the Senators have four games this week and over the past five games Zibanejad has scored a goal on 14 shots on goal for a plus minus rating of zero skating roughly 17 minutes a night on the Senators second line as well as the Sen's top power play unit. Zibanejad has 10 penalty minutes this season and is available in just over 60 percent of all Major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
Left Wing: Chris Kunitz and the Penguins have four games this week and over the past five games Kunitz has scored a goal with 14 shots on goal for a plus minus rating of -1 skating roughly 17 minutes a night on the Penguins top line as well as on the second power play unit. Kunitz has 16 minutes in penalties this season and is available in just over 65 percent of all Major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
Center/Left Wing: Tobias Rieder and the Arizona Coyotes have three games this week and over his past five games Rieder has 2 goals and 4 assists with 13 shots on goal for a plus minus rating of +3 skating roughly 17 minutes a night on the Coyotes third line as well as the top Coyotes power play unit. Over his past five games Rieder had 2 penalty minutes with 8 on the season and is available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
