Goals Against - a low ranking means they let in lots of goals (Columbus is letting in 3.2 goals against per game, they are ranked #1).
Goals for - the lower the ranking the more the team scores (Dallas is scoring the most goals for per game at 3.44 and is the number 1 ranking).
So you want to face a team with a low GA and a high GF. This is based off this seasons goals for and against, it will be updated as the season progresses to be a larger aggregate of this year.

Favorable Offensive Matchups:
Edmonton Oilers: Taylor Hall chalk on a few extra points. At Arizona and San Jose and then home against the 3rd worst defensive team in the NHL Calgary. The Oilers are facing 3 teams who are in the bottom 7 in goals allowed. San Jose, their toughest opponent is allowing 2.84 goals per game.
San Jose Sharks: 4 games this week the first two are back to back on the road against Calgary (3rd worst team) and Winnipeg (6th worst team). Then they get Edmonton (5thworst team) and cap it off with a tough Dallas Stars team. The first 3 matchups are allowing at least 2.85 goals per game. Good chance for Joe Pavelski to continue his solid play.
NY Islanders: John Tavares is off to a somewhat slow start and has a chance to net a few as they face Columbus (worst team defensively), Rangers (17th) and Vancouver (8th) all at home. Vancouver and Columbus are allowing at least 2.8 goals against.
Unfavorable Offensive Matchups:
Ottawa Senators: If you can avoid Bobby Ryan and Mike Hoffman this week. The Sens have two games this week, both on the road vs. Anaheim (24th) and Los Angeles (28th). The Ducks are still in a playoff hunt despite abysmal offense due to their tight defense. Both teams are holding opponents to 2.41 goals or fewer.
Montreal Canadiens: Max Pacioretty, Tomas Plekanec and Brendan Gallagher will get familiar with the Blackhawks as they have a home and away with them (26th in goals against) and St. Louis on the road (20th in goals against) the two teams are allowing 2.4 goals or fewer per game. Additionally both teams have talented rosters and strong goaltending.
Buffalo Sabres: They were off to a recent good stretch of play which will be tested as they face Minnesota, Boston and Washington. Minnesota and Washington are among the 6 toughest teams behind Devan Dubnyk and Braden Holtby. Boston, their "easier" team is still 12th in goals against.
Favorable Defensive Matchups:
Pittsburgh Penguins: A sigh of relief relatively for Kris Letang and Marc-Andre Fleury as they face Carolina twice and Tampa Bay. Tampa is still struggling to find their scoring touch as the triplets aren't any form of last year. Meanwhile Carolina is scoring 2.29 goals per game this year putting them 27th in the league.
Carolina Hurricanes: have 4 games this week and no surprise, two at Pittsburgh who is also struggling to score at 25th in the league. Outside of that they face St. Louis and Vancouver who are both scoring fewer than 2.47 goals per game.
Colorado Avalanche: 2 of their 3 games are at home facing Tampa Bay, New Jersey (27th) and Columbus (19th). Columbus just lost a star scorer in Ryan Johansen and New Jersey still can't find a consistent scorer past Mike Cammalleri
Ottawa Senators: Erik Karlsson won't be getting his normal offensive production but his defensive situation is favorable. Anaheim and Los Angeles two teams that are very strong on Defense but poor offensively.
Unfavorable Defensive Matchups:
Buffalo Sabres: Just go ahead and avoid most Sabres this week. Boston and Washington in the top 3 in goals scored (2.76 at least on average). Minnesota is respectable at 12thas well.
Anaheim Ducks: A tough week for a good defense. Ottawa and Dallas both top 8 scoring teams. Los Angeles is more average with ups and downs. Cam Fowler, Sami Vatenen and Frederik Anderson/John Gibson are in for quite a week.
Philadelphia Flyers: Michael Neuvirth has been playing well as of late and will be tested with Boston (3rd) Rangers (4th) and an easier tail end game at Detroit. Boston and the Rangers are scoring at least 2.95 goals per game.
