There are 11 MLB games on FanDuel slate for Saturday evening and unlike yesterday our task of finding a top flight pitcher is much easier as there are just two to choose from.....let's get started.
Pitching
Corey Kluber ($11,700) is the most expensive option today. He goes deep into ballgames and he strikes out nearly 10 batters per nine innings pitched. Tremendous 2.92 xFIp and he'll face an Angels team that has been struggling as of late. Since the break the Angels have a 19 percent strikeout rate with a .139 ISO and wRC+ of 86. Its hard to go wrong with Kluber on Saturday at home against the Angels.
Jon Lester ($10,600) takes the hill against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday. Lester is averaging just over 9 strikeouts per nine innings and has a very solid 3.12 xFIP. He'll face a Dodgers team that strikes out 21 percent of the time with a .148 ISO and wRC+ of 105. Lester is another solid Saturday option and of the 3 I think he has the higher potential for the most points on Saturday.
There are some decent options in the middle tier but the best one might be the Nationals Jordan Zimmerman ($8,700). Zimmerman is averaging just over 7 punchouts per nine innings and has a decent 3.83 xFIP. He'll face a Marlins team with a 17 percent strikeout rate, .109 ISO and wRC+ of 82. This one might be tough sledding but Zimmerman should come out ok on Saturday.
If you are looking for a lower priced option Luis Severino ($5,300) might be what you are looking for. Severino goes deep into ballgames and has been solid striking out almost 9.5 batters per nine innings with a good 3.59 xFIP. He'll face an Atlanta Braves team with an 18 percent strikeout rate, .111 ISO and wRC+ of 81. If you want to save some cash to spend on hitting Severino might be a good option on Saturday.
Offenses to Stack
I would consider stacking the Phillies left handed bats especially Ryan Howard (3,400), Dominic Brown (2,300) and Odubel Herrera (3,000) against the Padres Colin Rea. The other stacking opportunity I like is stacking righthanded Pittsburgh Pirates bats against Colorado Rockies leftie Chris Rusin. Those two would be the stacks I would consider strongly on Saturday evening.
You might also consider stacking Astros lefthanded bats against the Twins Mike Pelfrey. That might be the tastiest stack as Pelfrey strikes out less than five and 80 percent of balls hit are either medium (54%) or rockets (24%). Throw in a .179 ISO a wRC+ of 101 since the break and you might have fireworks on Saturday night.
Value Picks for Saturday Evening.
Yasmany Tomas ($2,200) has a nice matchup with the Athletics Felix Dubrount. Tomas hits lefties at home to the tune of .301/.444/.782 with 4 bombs, 23 RBI, 16 runs and 3 stolen bases. Tomas generally bats cleanup against lefties.
Derek Dietrich (2,800) has a nice matchup with the Nationals Jordan Zimmerman. Dietrich is mashing righties on the road slashing .306/..639/1.057 with 6 bombs, 11 RBI and 14 runs scored. Dietrich bats cleanup in the Marlins lineup.
