Fantasy Baseball: Weekend Starting Pitching Streaming Options July 17-19th 2015

Streaming Starting Pitchers this weekend? We have options for you to consider!

David Kohl-USA TODAY Sports

Depending on your league settings you are either wrapping up week 14 or beginning week number 15; either way if you are streaming Starting Pitching you need pitchers and I have some options for you to consider this weekend.

Friday

Kyle Hendricks and the Chicago Cubs are in Atlanta this weekend to take on the Braves. Over his last 4 starts Hendricks has posted a 2-1 record with a 1.42 ERA with 19 strikeouts, 3 walks and 2 bombs in 25.1 innings pitched. Good 3.08 FIP and 3.15 xFIP to go along with a fantastic 0.79 WHIP. The Braves at home have a 22 percent strikeout rate to go along with a .145 ISO, .291 BABIP, wOBA of .308 and wRC+ of 94. Hendricks could be a nice addition to your rotation on Friday.

Robbie Ray and the Arizona Diamondbacks play host to the visiting Giants. Over his last 3 starts Ray is 1-2 with a 2.75 ERA and 15 strikeouts, 3 walks and zero bombs over 19.2 innings pitched. Super 2.01 FIP and not so super 4.20 xFIP but his 0.97 WHIP is where the money is. On the road the Giants strikeout 21 percent of the time with a .168 ISO, .267 BABIP, wOBA of .310 and a wRC+ of 93. If Ray can avoid the longball and his 0.36 HR per nine inning ratio suggests he should be just fine on Friday.

Saturday

Manny Banuelos and the Braves host the Cubs in a Saturday evening contest. Over his past 2 starts Banuelos 1-0 with a 0.75 ERA, nine strikeouts, 4 walks and 1 bomb over 12 innings pitched. His 4.16 FIP and 4.35 are a bit high but I like his super 0.91 WHIP over those 12 innings. The Cubs have a 25 percent strikeout rate against lefties to go along with a .328 BABIP, wOBA of .325 and wRC+ of 100. This should be a good matchup for strikeouts and anything else would be a bonus.

Phil Hughes and the Minnesota Twins are in Oakland to take on the Athletics in a Saturday evening contest. Over his last 4 starts Hughes is 3-0 with a 3.81 ERA, 15 strikeouts, 2 walks and 6 bombs over his last 26 innings pitched. His FIP of 5.15 is on the high side and his xFIP of 4.45 is a bit more encouraging and his 1.27 WHIP is also less than desirable. Why Hughes? The A's at home have a 17 percent strikeout rate with a .163 ISO, .283 BABIP, wOBA of .336 and wRC+ of 115. It won't be pretty but Hughes is going to remain out there long enough to maybe a win on Saturday.

Sunday

Taylor Jungmann and the Milwaukee Brewers are at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates for a Sunday afternoon contest. Over his past 4 starts Jungmann is 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA on 20 strikeouts, 8 walks and 1 bomb over 28 innings pitched. Good 3.29 FIP and decent 3.92 xFIP with an exceptional 0.86 WHIP. On the road the Pirates have a 25 percent strikeout rate, .154 ISO, .271 BABIP with a wOBA of .294 and wRC+ of 82. Jungmann has been winning for me all year long; hopefully he can continue against the Pirates on Sunday.

Good luck this weekend Fantasy Baseball owner!
