Reminder: Always double check the lineup card before rosters lock to make sure that a player you've chosen to roster is playing that day, and check the weather to make sure your players won't get rained out of their game.
Here are 6 hitting options and 1 pitching option for today's slate:
Hitters
Yankees vs Sean O'Sullivan
O'Sullivan enters today's game with a 5.63 FIP, and he's pitching in Yankee Stadium where the run scoring environment will make things even more difficult on him. Lefties in particular would be preferred, as O'Sullivan's FIP vs LHB is an unbelievably bad 7.91 this year. I wrote about Carlos Beltran ($2,900) yesterday here, and I think he will be a good option for the foreseeable future. Since signing with the Yankees, Brian McCann ($3,600) is significantly better at home (137 wRC+) than on the road (66 wRC+) and is a very strong play at catcher. Switch hitter Chase Headley ($2,500) has been moved up to 2nd in the order recently and provides salary relief to spend on higher priced hitters elsewhere. 1B Mark Teixeira is experiencing neck issues, so LHB Garrett Jones ($2,200), who has hit RHP to a career 119 wRC+, is a good punt play option.
OF- David Peralta vs Kyle Kendrick, $2,500
You will want to fit as many decent Diamondbacks hitters as possible into your lineup against Kendrick, one of the least effective pitchers in baseball in the best run scoring environment in baseball, but Peralta in particular stands out as a strong play. Peralta is a career 123 wRC+ hitter vs RHP and is priced very low. He also hit 2nd in the order on Sunday.
OF- George Springer vs. C.J. Wilson, $4,400
Springer hits leadoff which gives him extra cracks at fantasy points with more plate appearances and has hit LHP to a 180 wRC+ this year, boosting his career wRC+ vs LHP to 151. Wilson has a below average 4.11 FIP in 360 IP vs RHB since 2013.
Pitcher (non elite)
Carlos Martinez vs Miami Marlins, $9,500
Of the second tier, non elite pitchers, I like Carlos Martinez the most. Martinez owns a strong 25.5% K% this year and faces a Marlins lineup that has the 8th highest K% vs RHP at 20.6% and 3rd worst wRC+ at 81. Martinez will be a good bet to rack up a solid amount of strikeouts and prevent runs at a strong level.
