Top 10 Fantasy Football PPR Running Backs List

Demarco Murray was the NFL's leading rusher last season. But where does he rank on Tyler Baddick's top PPR Running backs heading into this season?

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

    1. Adrian Peterson- AP always delivers when on the field. Coming back from suspension, Adrian is a no brainer top 2 pick with the suspension of Le’Veon Bell to start the season. Adrian should have no problem having if not the most but almost the most points in all fantasy football.

    Draft projection- Top 3 pick.

    2. Le’Veon Bell- Would be the number 1 player overall on the board if not suspended. Can catch the ball as well and get yards after the catch. The suspension of 3 games is the only reason Le’Veon is not number 1 on my board.

    Draft Projection- Top 3 pick.

    3. Matt Forte- Every single year experts always keep Forte out of their top 3 backs. This year will be different, with great pass catching ability as well, Forte should finish near the top overall in points at the end of the year. The Bears will also look to minimize the amount of pass attempts by struggling Jay Cutler, so look for Forte’s opportunities to go up.

Draft Projection- Mid 1st round pick.

    4. Jamaal Charles- A slow start to last year, Charles still finished with very solid fantasy numbers. With the amount of rushing attempts in Andy Reid’s system and half back screens, Charles should have no issue being a top 5 fantasy back.

Draft Projection- Late 1st round pick.

    5. Marshawn Lynch- Beastmode is getting up there in age but continues to produce every year. With the addition of Jimmy Graham, that could take some red zone chances away but Lynch should still be up there in the elite in touchdowns as long as getting around 100 yards a game.

Draft Projection- Late 1st to early 2nd round pick.

    6. Eddie Lacy- Majority of people have Lacy as a mid first round pick. I think differently with Lacey being the 3rd option on a pass heavy Green Bay Packers team. Eddie Lacy is very talented and will produce, just will not see as many chances as the running backs ahead of him to produce.

Draft Projection- Mid 2nd round pick.

    7. Jeremy Hill- After a tremendous rookie season, nobody will be overlooking Jeremy Hill this year. In a run heavy Bengals offense, Jeremy Hill should see 20-25 carries per game. He also adds value with his explosive play ability, being able to break tackles and has solid speed.

Draft Projection- Late 2nd to early 3rd round pick.

    8. LeSean McCoy- Leaving a great Chip Kelly system, I am interested to see how good McCoy will do in Buffalo. According to Fred Jackson, McCoy is expected to get over 300 carries this upcoming season which is around 20 carries a game. This would have a lot of upside of McCoy who has a lot of big play ability. McCoy should easily be a top 10 fantasy back this year and should be a late 2nd or early 3rd round pick.

Draft Projection- Late 2nd or early 3rd round.

    9. CJ Anderson- A tremendous 2nd part of the season, CJ was one of the elite backs once named the starter in Denver late into the season. With a run heavy Kubiak system coming in, the real question will be how much does Denver run the ball still having Peyton Manning as their QB. Most experts have CJ as a late 1st or early 2nd round pick after what he did last year, but I would like to see a little more out of him to put him in that category.

    Draft Projection- 3rd round Pick.

    10. Justin Forsett- Coming on late into the season, Forsett was one of the best down the stretch. But can he do it all again? With the departure of Gary Kubiak as offensive coordinator, there are a lot of question marks next to Justin Forsett. He really is a hit or miss this year in my opinion. Great speed with running outside the tackles along with solid pass catching, we will see if Forsett can be dominant once again. Former Bears head coach Marc Trestman will also be taking over as offensive coordinator, which should increase the amount of catches Justin should see as well.

    Draft Projection- 4th round pick.
