Streamer Report for Friday: Pomeranz, Niese and Buehrle

Ray offers you some options for streaming starters for Friday's games, including Jon Niese, Drew Pomeranz and Mark Buehrle.

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

The Streamer Report provides you with daily starting pitcher streaming selections for owners who prefer to stream starting pitchers on a daily basis. This report identifies starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who either has a decent track record vs their opponent, has pitched well of late, or has a decent matchup.

Friday's Streamers

Jon Niese, Mets vs Braves

I will be streaming pitchers vs the Braves all season, and will go with Niese on Friday. In three starts vs the Braves last season, Niese went 1-2 with a 2.61 ERA and a 17-5 strikeout to walk rate in 20.2 innings. In ten career starts vs Atlanta, Niese is 4-4 with a 3.34 ERA, so he has a history of pitching well vs the Braves.

Drew Pomeranz, Athletics vs Mariners

Pomeranz is owned in less than 3% of leagues right now, and faces off against an improved Mariners lineup on Friday. Pomeranz pitched well at home last season, going 4-1 with a 3.49 ERA while striking out a batter per inning. He had a good spring and I expect his good fortune to continue in his first start of the season.

Mark Buehrle, Blue Jays vs Orioles

Last April, Buehrle went 4-1 with a 2.16 ERA in April, so I am going to bet that he has another hot start in 2015 and recommend him on the road vs the Orioles on Friday. He pitched better on the road than at home last year as well (3.12 ERA on the road vs 3.63 ERA at home).
