Streamer Report for Saturday: CC Sabathia and Alfredo Simon

Ray offers you some options for streaming starters for Saturday's games, including CC Sabathia and Alfredo Simon.

Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

The Streamer Report provides you with daily starting pitcher streaming selections for owners who prefer to stream starting pitchers on a daily basis. This report identifies starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who either has a decent track record vs their opponent, has pitched well of late, or has a decent matchup.

Saturday's Streamers

CC Sabathia, Yankees vs Mets

Can you believe that Sabathia is owned in just around 30% of leagues right now? Well, judging by his performance this season, it isn't a surprise. But a look at his peripheral stats tells us he is pitching better than his record and ERA indicate. Sabathia is 0-3 with a 4.35 ERA, but owns a 2.35 FIP, is striking out just under a batter per inning, walking less than two batters per nine innings and is keeping the ball on the ground at a 61% rate. He is throwing more curve balls this season, one of the reasons for the increase in ground ball rate. Sabathia has made five career starts vs the Mets, going 3-1 with a 2.14 ERA and a 26-7 strikeout to walk rate in 33.2 innings.

Alfredo Simon, Tigers vs Indians

Simon is owned in exactly 50% of leagues right now, so he makes the cut. Simon has pitched well in his three starts thus far, going 3-0 with a 1.74 ERA and a 0.87 WHIP. He doesn't strike out many batters, but also limits the walks and keeps the ball on the ground. The Indians are struggling to score runs so far, so Simon should fare well on Saturday.
