FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball picks for Monday, April 20

I list some players that I think have a good chance at producing today.

Reminder: Always double check the lineup card before rosters lock to make sure that a player you've chosen to roster is playing that day.

It's Coors Field week, so it's a good idea to stack as many hitters in those games as possible. The reason for this is:

1. The ball doesn't move in Coors like it does near sea level, which makes it easier for hitters to square the ball up and hit it hard.

2. The high altitude makes fly balls travel further in the air, leading to more home runs.

3. The spacious outfield leads to more batted balls falling in for hits.

4. The thin air makes the ball slick, which makes commanding pitches difficult.

Specifically, I want 4 (FanDuel's max from one team) Padres RHB in my tomorrow vs. LHP Jorge De La Rosa, who has large platoon splits.

Here are 3 Padres choices that I like a lot tomorrow, factoring in price and potential production:

3B- Will Middlebrooks, $3,000

About 1/3 of Middlebrooks' at bats are ending in a hard hit ball this year, third best in baseball. It's a small sample, but he's been crushing the ball so far, and I like the chances of that continuing in Coors Field against a lefty. Last season, De La Rosa had a 4.83 FIP in 140 IP vs. RHB, and in 874 career innings vs. RHB he owns a 4.68 FIP.

2B- Jedd Gyorko, $2,700

Gyorko has a career 119 wRC+ against LHP. This, combined with De La Rosa's platoon split, make Gyorko a bargain at $2,700.

C- Derek Norris, $2,800

Norris has clobbered LHP in his career, hitting them to a 146 wRC+. Like Gyorko, De La Rosa's platoon split amplifies this. I love Norris tomorrow at this price.

Matt Kemp, Wil Myers, and (possibly) Justin Upton are also great choices, provided Upton plays.

For the Rockies, I am going to load up on LHB vs. RHP Odrisamer Despaigne, who has large platoon splits so far in his brief career. Here are two Rockies that I like a lot tomorrow:

OF- Charlie Blackmon, $4,200

These were Blackmon's numbers last year in Coors Field vs. a RHP: .350/.418/.599, .977 OPS, 155 wRC+, 10 HR in 252 PA. He crushes RHP at home, and with Despaigne's large platoon splits (4.61 FIP vs. LHB vs. a 2.83 FIP vs. RHB), he will have an excellent chance at production tomorrow.

1B- Justin Morneau, $4,000

Morneau revived his career last year with the Rockies, largely due to revamping his approach at the plate. Morneau hit RHP extremely well, posting a 141 wRC+ against them. His numbers were also much better at home than on the road, even when using the park adjusted wRC+:

Home wRC+ vs. RHP: 151

Road wRC+ vs. RHP: 130

Morneau's use of the spacious outfield may have something to do with this.
