FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball picks for Wednesday, April 15

I list some players that I think have good odds at producing today.

Reminder: Always double check the lineup card before rosters lock to make sure that a player you've chosen to roster is playing that day.

Cubs hitters, especially LHB, vs. Jason Marquis

In 250 IP dating back to 2012, Marquis owns an ugly 4.66 ERA with an even uglier 5.32 FIP. He has been unbelievably bad in that span against LHB, posting a FIP over 6. Leadoff hitter and LHB Dexter Fowler is priced at $3,500, and with Marquis as his opposition, that price looks like a bargain.

OF- Giancarlo Stanton vs. Eric Stults, $4,600

Stults is a below average soft tossing LHP that Stanton should eat alive. Stanton had a 193 wRC+ against LHP in 2014 and a 175 wRC+ against LHP in 2013. A 193 wRC+ is basically Babe Ruth level production, and that's not an exaggeration (Ruth owned a career 197 wRC+). I expect multiple hard hit balls from Stanton in this matchup and high odds of extra base hits.

2B- Rickie Weeks vs. Brett Anderson, $2,600

Weeks is a dirt cheap, quality play against LHP.  Weeks has a career 128 wRC+ against LHP and a 142 wRC+ against them in his most recent season sample, 2014. Seattle signed him specifically to specialize as an impact platoon bat against LHP.

OF- Mookie Betts vs. Gio Gonzalez, $3,200

Betts' low price jumps out at me. I think he's too talented of a player, in too good of a situation in Boston, to be priced this low. Gio hasn't been elite against RHB the last two years (3.20 FIP in 2014, 3.64 FIP in 2013), and Betts is a stud batting leadoff in a potent Red Sox lineup. I would ride Betts' low price until his performance demands a higher dollar value, which I expect to happen soon.

OF- Desmond Jennings vs. Mark Buehrle, $3,200

Jennings has a career 131 wRC+ against LHP and it's been even better than that the last two years (141 in 2014, 145 in 2013). Buehrle also pitches to contact, which increases the odds of Jennings using his speed to have good fortune on balls in play.

1B- Lucas Duda vs. Jerome Williams, $3,600

Duda is quietly developing into an impact middle of the order bat. He crushed RHP to a 158 wRC+ last year and he's facing a significantly below average RHP: since 2012, Jerome Williams owns a 4.58 ERA, 4.32 FIP and 120 ERA-. I expect multiple hard hit balls from Duda against Williams.

P- Brandon Morrow vs. Arizona Diamondbacks, $6,600

I love Morrow at this low price. Morrow's stuff is just as nasty as it was during his peak years and the transition to the NL West and PetCo will allow him to get away with mistakes that Rogers Centre and the AL East would punish him for. Morrow will likely rack up about a strikeout per inning with above average run prevention, and he's in a very winnable matchup against Chase Anderson.
