NFL Week 14 Survivor and Pick'em: Matt Hasselbeck continues to win

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Survivor Picks

Kansas City over San Diego - Add another W to the long trend for the Chiefs right now.
Carolina over Atlanta - Ditto to above with an even longer train of W's
Detroit over St. Louis - Detroit is silently rallying and playing better each week.

Week 14:
Minnesota Vikings @ Arizona Cardinals (Ari -7) - Minnesota has one win over a team with a winning record - earlier this year to Kansas City. Arizona wins but the tough Viking defense keeps it to 7.

Buffalo Bills @ Philadelphia Eagles (Even) - The Eagles had one strong week, I don't see it being a trend. Buffalo wins. The Bills have lost two of their last 5 - to Kansas City and New England. They are a solid team right now.

Detroit Lions @ St. Louis Rams (Even) - Lions have won 3 of their last 4. Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson connect for a big game.

San Francisco 49ers @ Cleveland Browns (Even) - This is the nonsensical game. Cleveland pulls the upset at home despite all lack of functioning as a team.

New Orleans Saints @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (TB -3.5) - New Orleans has lost 4 straight and Tampa Bay has won 3 of their last 4 but this will be a tough divisional matchup for Tampa Bay at home. Drew Brees is up for a big game. Bucs win but Saints keep it real close.

Tennessee Titans @ New York Jets (NYJ -7.5) - The Titans are on an upswing right now, not enough to beat Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Jets.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals (Cin -2.5) - Pittsburgh with the upset in the divisional matchup. Big Ben does great in these situations and they are in desperation mode down the stretch at 7-5

Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars (Jack -1) - Matt Hasselbeck is an amazing 4 out of 5 with them this year. I'll support that trend.

San Diego Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs (KC -11.5) - This seems like a trap game where San Diego comes out and makes it a tough matchup. I just can't follow the notion logically though, Alex Smith and Kansas City wins and covers at home.

Washington Redskins @ Chicago Bears (Chi -3.5) - One team is 1-5 at home, the other is 0-6 on the road. So..flipping a coin I'll go with the team that has a win in all of this. But not to cover the 3.5 points.

Atlanta Falcons @ Carolina Panthers (Car -8.5) - Carolina continues their domination. The defense with Luke Keuchly is amazing.

Seattle Seahawks @ Baltimore Ravens (Sea -3) - Seattle is finishing strong. 3 straight wins, each by at least 9 points. They EASILY beat the Ravens by 3.This is my backup survivor pick behind the top three.

Oakland Raiders @ Denver Broncos (Den -8.5) - Brock Osweiler has won 3 of his 4 starts. Only one of those (last week vs. SD) was by more than 6 points. Oakland keeps it within a touchdown.

Dallas Cowboys @ Green Bay Packers (GB -7.5) - Matt Cassel finally won a game after 4 consecutive losses. With that said - each of the loses was by a touchdown or less.

New England Patriots @ Houston Texans (NE -3.5) - New England isn't the elite team, at least not lately. They win, just barely.

New York Giants @ Miami Dolphins (Even) - There is 1 win amongst these two in their last three weeks. Miami beat Baltimore last week, that shows nothing. Giants win in this ‘not so epic' Monday Night Game.
