The fantasy football playoffs are here and you probably still don't know what to do with your running backs. This position has been a crapshoot and a half, and this week won't be any different.
Rank | Player | Team | Opponent | Analysis |
| Doug Martin | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | NO | Finally got back into the end zone last week, and gets a hilariously bad Saints defense this week. |
| David Johnson | Arizona Cardinals | MIN | Doesn't seem to matter who the RB is in this offense, but David Johnson might be the best they've had this year. |
| Jonathan Stewart | Carolina Panthers | ATL | Doug Martin and J Stew switch bad opponents. Both should replicate or surpass each other's success from a week ago. |
| LeSean McCoy | Buffalo Bills | @PHI | The Shady-Eagles revenge game is upon us. McCoy is on fire right now and the Eagles won't stop him. |
| Devonta Freeman | Atlanta Falcons | @CAR | Death, taxes, and Freeman scoring over 10 fantasy points. |
| DeAngelo Williams | Pittsburgh Steelers | @CIN | He's a usage monster and a dominant one. |
| Chris Ivory | New York Jets | TEN | His hit or miss fantasy weeks have been kind of killer, but he should reward his owners this week in a middle-of-the-road matchup. |
| Matt Forte | Chicago Bears | WAS | Gets another good matchup this week, coming off an 18 fantasy point performance. |
| Lamar Miller | Miami Dolphins | NYG | Should keep it going this week as the focal point of their new coordinator's offense. |
| T.J. Yeldon | Jacksonville Jaguars | IND | Finally found the end zone again, as they gave him red zone carries. Has a good chance to score again this week. |
| Adrian Peterson | Minnesota Vikings | @ARI | Their anemic passing offense is a cause for concern, and this week could play out like last week's blowout, but he should get more touches. |
| Mark Ingram | New Orleans Saints | @TB | Has easily been the most consistent and trustworthy fantasy running back. |
| Thomas Rawls | Seattle Seahawks | @BAL | The Ravens run defense sprung some leaks against Lamar Miller last week, but they are still one of the toughest to crack. |
| Ronnie Hillman | Denver Broncos | OAK | With C.J. Anderson nursing a bad ankle injury, Hillman should monopolize the backfield in an inviting matchup. |
| Giovani Bernard | Cincinnati Bengals | PIT | This is going to be a Gio game with a ton of receiving production, with the Steelers run defense playing at an elite level. |
| Latavius Murray | Oakland Raiders | @DEN | Though the matchup is tough, Denver is easily hurt by pass catching backs and Murray can do it all. |
| Charcandrick West | Kansas City Chiefs | SD | The backfield situation is unclear, but the pedestrian matchup isn't. |
| Todd Gurley | St. Louis Rams | DET | His talent shined through during his hot streak, but this entire team is an empty void of production right now. |
| Eddie Lacy | Green Bay Packers | DAL | He's only this high because of coachspeak and bad options behind him. He's dead to me otherwise. |
| Shaun Draughn | San Francisco 49ers | @CLE | Has been a safe option and gets a great matchup. |
| Javorius Allen | Baltimore Ravens | SEA | The Ravens may not score a point, but he gives you a nice floor with his receiving usage. |
| Darren McFadden | Dallas Cowboys | @GB | The offense looked atrocious with Tony Romo out, save for a late game DMC touchdown that probably should've never even happened. |
| Frank Gore | Indianapolis Colts | @JAX | Battling through soreness and inefficiency, Gore put up 15 points against a tough defense. He gets an easier draw this week. |
| Ryan Mathews | Philadelphia Eagles | BUF | Coming off a delayed absence into possibly the lead role in this backfield. |
| Spencer Ware | Kansas City Chiefs | SD | Ware ripped apart the Chargers three weeks ago, but his path for carries is unclear. |
| Jeremy Langford | Chicago Bears | WAS | Still doing damage with relatively limited work behind Forte. |
| Jeremy Hill | Cincinnati Bengals | PIT | Hill is going to struggle to find any room to run in this matchup. A short touchdown would be his saving grace. |
| LeGarrette Blount | New England Patriots | @HOU | Maybe he'll score a short touchdown. Probably not. |
| Ameer Abdullah | Detroit Lions | @STL | He's topped his season-high in rushing yards in two straight weeks. Let's see if he can keep it going. |
| Duke Johnson | Cleveland Browns | SF | I don't know what this offense will look like. |
| Matt Jones | Washington Redskins | @CHI | Jay Gruden is just the worst. |
| James White | New England Patriots | @HOU | Does he have a medium between going off or putting up a goose egg? |
| Bilal Powell | New York Jets | TEN | This week's game script favors Ivory much more, but Powell has earned more touches. |
| Melvin Gordon | San Diego Chargers | @KC | They just keep trotting him out there and he does nothing. |
| Charles Sims | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | NO | Should get plenty of usage in a potential shootout. |
| DeMarco Murray | Philadelphia Eagles | BUF | What a disgusting year for high-round running back picks. |
| Jonathan Grimes | Houston Texans | NE | The Texans should be down most game, meaning Grimes will feature more as the better pass catching option in their backfield. |
| James Starks | Green Bay Packers | DAL | Worst case scenario: 4 points. Best case scenario: 9 points. |
| Danny Woodhead | San Diego Chargers | @KC | He's one of the most efficient running backs in the league and they don't use him. It's beyond my comprehension. |
| Isaiah Crowell | Cleveland Browns | SF | This team is a travesty. |
| Rashad Jennings | New York Giants | @MIA | Pick a running back, Tom Coughlin. |
| Darren Sproles | Philadelphia Eagles | BUF | Pick a running back, Chip Kelly. |
| Antonio Andrews | Tennessee Titans | @NYJ | I know this is really low, but the Titans aren't going to be able to run the ball at all. |
| Mike Tolbert | Carolina Panthers | ATL | Touchdown or nothing. |
| Theo Riddick | Detroit Lions | @STL | What will Jim Bob Cooter do? |
| Shane Vereen | New York Giants | @MIA | Pick a running back, Tom Coughlin. |
| Jay Ajayi | Miami Dolphins | NYG | Usage is limited, but the Dolphins should be able to move the ball easily. |
| Chris Polk | Houston Texans | NE | Pick a running back, Bill O'Brien. |
| Alfred Blue | Houston Texans | NE |
Pick a running back, Bill O'Brien. |
| Andre Williams | New York Giants | @MIA | Pick a running back, Tom Coughlin. |
