Some familiar names in today's DFS article, but you gotta take the deals when you find them...
1. D'Angelo Russell, LAL, PG ($5300)
He's still inconsistent from a shooting % standpoint, but he's pretty solid in the counting stats department. As a 6'5", 19 year old point guard, Russell is coming off a career high 10 rebounds. He also hit a career high 4 3PM. Now the bad: He also had a career high 7 turnovers. And he shot 6/16 from the field.
Look, D'Angelo Russell is going to be an All-Star in a few years.
Just not this year.
For DFS though, he's capable of breakout performances every single night. He's got lumps, but there's tonnes of upside here for the price.
2. Wesley Matthews, DAL, SG ($4800)
He's still shaking off rust from his major injury last season, but he can go off on any given night. These days though, it's every OTHER night.
Last game, he scored 5 points on embarrassing 1/9 shooting. The game before? 18 points on 5/11. He's good for a few rebounds and steals too, so if you catch him on the right day, he's a beast.
I'm gonna roll on this yo yo tonight - assuming he goes bad game, good game.
Risk though, but he's cheap.
3. P.J. Tucker, PHX, SF ($4000)
It's P.J. Tucker or T.J. Warren every game for the Suns. Impossible to know which player will step up from game to game, I'm gonna opt for PJ - mostly because he went 9 & 13 last game. He's less consistent than T.J. Warren, but seems to be the hot hand.
When he's on, he can do everything.
Could that be today? Hope so.
4. Mirza Teletovic, PHX, PF ($3900)
Teletovic scored 2 points in 7 minutes last game.
So why am I recommending him?
Because he scored 50 combined in the previous 3.
Look, Phoenix has weird rotations. But that also means value. On a team where different players step up every night, you can hit the jackpot with some risk...
Mirza has been one of the most consistent options on an inconsistent team. You won't find a cheaper power forward today with as much upside...
5. Kosta Koufos, SAC, C ($4600)
Koufos came off the bench last game to turn in one of his best performances of the season: 11 points on 5/9 shooting, 12 REB, 2 BLK. He's consistently solid and sporadically awesome.
He's a pretty safe bet for at least his season averages of 8.8 PPG, 7.2 REB and 1.0 BLK.
And he is capable of more - as we've seen.
I'm really on the Kosta Koufos train right now, so he comes highly recommended today...
So that's 5 deals - with accompanying risk.
If you wanna win, you gotta go for upside.
Now go get your Christmas shopping done.
So last minute...
