FanDuel/SB Nation Fantasy Football League: Week 13

We've got a full slate for the first time in a long time. With so many options, there are lots of great values out there. I'll go through a couple of my favorite FanDuel plays for this week below.

Quarterback

Jay Cutler - $7,000

Cutler and the Bears are hosting the San Francisco 49ers this weekend. The Niners have showed some signs of life at times this year, but they are a great matchup when they travel. Cutler will have a healthy Alshon Jeffery to throw to, and Martellus Bennet is on the mend as well. With San Fran giving up the 5th most passing yards per game, I think we see a nice bounce-back week from the Cutler.

Matt Hasselbeck - $6,500

Did you know, Matt Hasselbeck was drafted the year that Google was founded? Matty Icy-Hot is the cheapest QB I'm comfortable playing this week. He's shown the ability to manage the game, and last week he got his speedy wide receivers involved, tossing 2 TDs to TY Hillton. The Colts are hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers this week. Last week we saw the Steelers give up 5 passing touchdowns to Russel Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks, and Pittsburgh, for the season, has surrendered the 3rd most passing yards per game to opposing offenses. I think we'll see another solid week from Hasselbeck, and his price allows great flexibility elsewhere.

Running Back

Javorius Allen - $6,800

Allen had a nice showing last week on Monday Night Football, posting just over 16 FanDuel points against the 2nd worst rush defense in the league. This week, Allen and the Baltimore Ravens will face the a Miami Dolphins team that gives up the most rushing yards per game. Allen is a receiving threat out of the background, and he's looked pretty good when they hand it to him as well. With Matt Schaub as the starting quarterback, you know the Ravens will want to ride Allen to try and salvage a win. I think Buck is up to the task this week, and I like his price.

David Johnson - $5,900

With Chris Johnson and Andre Ellington out with injury, starting duty will likely fall to David Johnson this week for the Arizona Cardinals. Bruce Arians is making it sound like Johnson is in line for a full workload, and we've seen Johnson make a whole lot out of limited touches so far this year. I expect the Cards to still focus on the pass more than the run, but Arizona made Chris Johnson fantasy relevant again this year, so David Johnson could really pop for us this week. At this price, and with the opportunity he'll have, Johnson will likely be very highly owned, but I'll roster David J and worry about diversifying elsewhere this week.

Wide Receiver

Danny Amendola - $6,700

Amendola missed last week's game with an injured knee, and he's listed as questionable to play this week. If he does play, he'll be in line for a lot of targets with all the Pats injuries. After Julian Edelman went down with injury, Amendola stepped right in to Edelman's role, and has been peppered with targets from Tom Brady. The Patriots are hosting Philadelphia Eagles team looks like they're making post-season tee-times already, and New England is coming off of a tough loss in prime time to the Brock Osweiler led Denver Broncos. I expect the Patriots to come out and have no trouble moving the ball, and they'll do so on Amendola' s back this week.

DeVante Parker - $5,200

Parker will be another highly owned value play this week after putting up nice numbers filling in for the injured Rishard Matthews last week. Parker was highly drafted but then hit with injury. Now he's healthy, and flashing the talent that tempted Miami in to making him their first round pick at 14 overall in the 2015 draft. The Dolphins will face a Ravens side plagued by injury, but the Ravens are still playing tough. I expect the Dolphins to win, but I think Baltimore keeps it close enough to force Miami to pass. Parker should be a big beneficiary in the passing game this week.

Tight End

Julius Thomas - $5,800

The Jaguars have been forcing the ball to Thomas early and often over the past couple of weeks. With Allen Hurns expected to miss this Sunday's matchup against the Tennessee Titans, we're likely to see even more targets for Thomas this week. Julius has a 2 game TD streak, and I'd be surprised if he doesn't make it 3 in a row as the Jags beat the Titans this week.

Vance McDonald - $4,900

Vance McDonald has put a couple of nice games together after Blaine Gabbert assumed the starting quarterback role for the Niners. San Francisco will face Chicago this week, and while I expect Chicago to win, the Niners have shown enough fight lately for me to feel comfortable playing McDonald at this price. I think a lot of people will be on Scott Chandler this week, and for good reason, but McDonald gives you the same upside for %400 cheaper.

Defense

Cincinnati Bengals - $5,100

So the Bengals might not be a real ‘value play' since they are the 3rd most expensive DST this week, but I can't help but be over-exposed to the Bengals this week. Despite God's best efforts to get Johnny Manziel in to the starting lineup, the Browns will roll with Austin Davis at quarterback this week. Cleveland's offense has looked decent when piloted by Josh McCown, and Davis looked serviceable when he stepped in Monday Night. However, Davis is a 3rd string quality QB, and the Browns and Bengals games are always tighter than expected. In a close game, I think the Cincy forces a couple of turnovers and gets to Davis for a few sacks this week.

Miami Dolphins - $4,500

Matt Schaub is starting again this week for the Ravens, and they play the Miami Dolphins. So, in lineups where I can't fit the Bengals in, I'll be rostering the Dolphins. Schaub's uncanny ability to throw touchdowns to opposing defenses makes any Ravens opponent a favorite DST start for the rest of the season.

Kicker

Robbie Gould - $4,600

I was close to leaving kicker out of this week's article, it's random. But, due diligence and all... Let's go with Gould this week. I expect Chicago to dominate this game, and Gould is only 100 bucks over min price.

That does it for this week folks. Good luck out there to you in all your contests.
