Week 13 of the Fantasy Hockey season kicks off Monday December 28, 2015 and ends on January 3rd, 2016. I don't generally make New Years resolutions but one of the things I would like to improve upon is spending more time with my roster each day.......and that means more time on the waiver wire. Here's what I have for you this week.
Teams with four games this week are the Anaheim Ducks, Buffalo Sabres, Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators, New York Islanders, Washington Capitals and Winnipeg Jets.
The Boston Bruins, Columbus Blue Jackets, Philadelphia Flyers and Vancouver Canucks each have two games this week. Every other NHL team has three games on their schedule.
Back to Back Games for Week 13
Anaheim (Thur-Fri), Buffalo (Wed-Thur), Dallas (Sat-Sun), Detroit (Mon-Tue), Florida (Sat-Sun), Montreal (Mon-Tue), New Jersey (Tue-Wed), Nashville (Mon-Tue), New York Islanders (Sat-Sun), Ottawa (Tue-Wed), Pittsburgh (Wed-Thur), Toronto (Tue-Wed), Washington (Wed-Thur) and Winnipeg (Sat-Sun).
Week 13 Waiver Wire Options
Center/Left Wing/Right Wing: Brock Nelson and the Islanders have four games this week and over the past five games Nelson has been hot scoring 3 goals with an assist and 18 shots on goal for a plus minus rating of 1. Nelson has been skating roughly 17 minutes a game on the Islanders top line as well as the majority of the time on the Islanders top power play unit. Nelson has 8 penalty minutes on the season and is available in just over 50 percent of all major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
Center/Left Wing: Marcus Johansson and the Capitals have four games this week and during the past five games Johansson has potted 2 goals with 2 helpers and 9 shots on goal for a plus minus rating of zero. Johansson has been skating roughly 17 minutes a night on the Capitals second line as well as the top Capitals power play unit, has recorded just 2 penalty minutes and is available in just over 60 percent of all Major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
Left Wing: Tanner Pearson and the Kings have four games this week and over his past five games Pearson has 3 assists and 7 shots on goal for a plus minus rating of 2. Pearson has been averaging roughly 16 minutes a night on the Kings second line and also spends some time on the Kings power play. Pearson has just 6 penalty minutes this season and is available in just over 90 percent of all Major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
Defense: Ryan Ellis and the Predators have four games this week and during the past five games Ellis has scored a goal with 2 assists and 11 shots on goal for a plus minus rating of 1. Ellis is skating roughly 20 minutes per night on the Preds second defensive pairing as well as spending time on the second power play unit. Ellis has 18 penalty minutes this season and is available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
Defense: Johnny Oduya and the Stars have four games this week and over the past five games Oduya has 2 goals and 2 assists with 5 shots on goals for a plus minus rating of 6. Oduya is skating roughly 18 minutes a night on the Stars second line of defense, has 10 penalty minutes this season and is available in just over 90 percent of all Major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
Goaltender: Louis Dominigue and the Coyotes have three games this week and with Mike Smith on the shelf Dominique is the man in the spotlight. Over his past three games Dominique has allowed 4 goals and has racked up a 2-1 record with a save percentage of 94 percent. He also has a shutout over the Islanders to his credit. Arizona doesn't play any back to back games this week and it's conceivable that Dominique could be between the pipes all three games this week. Dominique is available in just over 85 percent of all Major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
Good luck this week Fantasy Hockey General Manager!
