Week 15 QB Rankings

Need a streamer? Deciding between two QBs? Jacob Adler examines this week's top matchups.

Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

After a poor week with last week's streamers, let's hope this week's recommendations work out better. There is plenty of fantasy goodness from top quarterbacks this week, but not as much from the rest of the group. This is a rough week for streaming, so hopefully you have options, but there are some opportunities for top-10 performances.

Here's how last week's streamers fared:

Jameis Winston versus New Orleans Saints

One of the most popular quarterback plays, Jameis Winston fell behind to the New Orleans Saints and surprisingly couldn't accrue fantasy stats. With the exception of his five-touchdown game in Philadelphia, he's been a disappointment this season.

Alex Smith versus San Diego Chargers

Another dud, Alex Smith and the Chiefs couldn't achieve much against a measly Chargers defense.

Johnny Manziel versus San Francisco 49ers

While he finished the game, the Browns defeated the 49ers handedly through the run game. Manziel's 270 yards, touchdown, and interception weren't bad but also not useful for fantasy.

Blaine Gabbert at Cleveland Browns

As I suspected, Blaine Gabbert's rushing did not carry over, but he was a mess passing the ball. For the second consecutive week, he failed to reach 200 passing yards.

Brock Osweiler versus Oakland Raiders

While Brock Osweiler broke 300 yards against the Raiders, he did not throw a touchdown pass and has only four passing touchdowns in four games. He'll be tough to trust the rest of the way.

Here are this week's streamers:

Ryan Fitzpatrick against Dallas Cowboys

Make that three consecutive ceiling games for Ryan Fitzpatrick. However, he'll be more of a floor play against a Cowboys defense that has allowed only one 300-yard game and no games of three or more touchdowns. All non-NFC East quarterbacks have posted double-digit points, and Fitzmagic shouldn't have much of a problem putting up a high-end QB2 day.

Alex Smith against Baltimore Ravens

While Alex Smith underwhelmed last week in a great matchup with San Diego with only 191 yards, a touchdown and pick, I'll go right back to the well at Baltimore. The Ravens are fresh off allowing five touchdowns to Russell Wilson, which was their first game allowing either 300+ yards or 3+ touchdowns since Philip Rivers did both in Week 8. The combination of Smith and Jeremy Maclin could be a popular stack in DFS.

Kirk Cousins against Buffalo Bills

A slight home underdog against the Buffalo Bills, Kirk Cousins has been hit-or-miss from a fantasy perspective all season. Interestingly enough, he has thrown exactly one touchdown pass in 11 of his 13 games, with three and four in the other two games. While I'm not sure if we can rely on rushing production every game, Cousins is always a threat to pick up a short rushing touchdown.

Marcus Mariota against New England Patriots

This isn't the best week to start Marcus Mariota, but the Tennessee Titans are 14-point underdogs and Mariota will likely be able to throw a ton in garbage time. There are better places to go this week.
