Fantasy Hockey Week 11 Schedule Preview

Favorable schedules, who has an easy road ahead, who has it tough. 12/14/2015 - 12/20/2015.

Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

Goals Against - a low ranking means they let in lots of goals (Calgary is letting in 3.54 goals against per game, they are ranked #1).

Goals for - the lower the ranking the more the team scores (Dallas is scoring the most goals for per game at 3.52 and is the number 1 ranking).

So you want to face a team with a low GA and a high GF. This is based off this seasons goals for and against, it will be updated as the season progresses to be a larger aggregate of this year.

Number of games this week:
4 games: Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Calgary Flames, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Edmonton Oilers, Florida Panthers, NY Rangers, New Jersey Devils, Ottawa Senators, Pittsburgh Penguins, San Jose Sharks, Tampa Bay Lightning, Vancouver Canucks and Washington Capitals
3 games: Carolina Hurricanes, Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild, Montreal Canadiens, NY Islanders, Nashville Predators, Philadelphia Flyers, St. Louis Blues and Toronto Maple Leafs
2 games: Anaheim Ducks, Arizona Coyotes and Winnipeg Jets

Favorable Offensive Matchups:
Philadelphia Flyers - Carolina, Vancouver and Columbus and none of them back to back. Carolina and Columbus are allowing at least 3 goals per game and Sergei Bobrovsky is out for Columbus.
St. Louis Blues - Winnipeg, Nashville and Calgary. Winnipeg and Calgary are allowing 3 goals per game. Vladimir Tarasenko and Alex Steen can add to their impressive point totals.
Detroit Red Wings - Buffalo, Vancouver and Calgary. Calgary is the worst NHL team defensively and Buffalo and Vancouver are both allowing at least 2.73 goals per game. This will be a fun week to watch the Dan Larkin, Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk line.

Unfavorable Offensive Matchups:
Ottawa Senators - 4 games this week - none of them are back to back but Los Angeles, Washington and Tampa Bay are all allowing fewer than 2.28 goals per game. The one favorable matchup is San Jose.
Washington Capitals - Four games like Ottawa and none of them are back to back but Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay and NY Rangers are allowing less than 2.39 goals per game. The Ottawa matchup is favorable as they are allowing 3 goals per game. Evegeni Kuznetsov is leading the team in points ahead of Niklas Backstrom and Alexander Ovechkin.
Boston Bruins - Pittsburgh home and away and New Jersey will all be tough matchups. Edmonton Oilers are a favorable matchup on Sunday as they allow 3 goals per game.

Favorable Defensive Matchups:
Vancouver Canucks have a rough offensive matchup but a good defensive matchup against Philadelphia, Florida, Minnesota and Detroit all who are in the lower half of the league in scoring.
Boston Bruins - Another one where it's rough offensively but favorable defensively. Edmonton is scoring goals right now but Pittsburgh and New Jersey are both scoring fewer than 2.55 goals per game.
Buffalo Sabres - Detroit and New Jersey just like the Bruins but they also have Anaheim (worst scoring team in the league) and Chicago who is better offensively. A good week for Rasmus Ristolainen to improve on his poor plus minus.

Unfavorable Defensive Matchups:
Colorado Avalanche - Three games this week against Chicago, NY Islanders and Edmonton. All of them are scoring at least 2.7 goals per game. Reto Berra has it tough this week.
Winnipeg Jets - Just two games neither are looking good: St. Louis and NY Rangers.
Edmonton Oilers - 4 games against Boston, Rangers, Chicago and Colorado (all in the top 11 in scoring).
Montreal Canadiens - PK Subban has his work cut out for him with San Jose, LA and Dallas. All teams in the top half in scoring.
