Week eight of the Fantasy Basketball season begins Monday December 14, 2015. There are plenty of interesting options to consider as well as some tremendous streaming options.....so let's get started!
Teams with four games this week are the Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnisota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans, Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, Portland Trail Blazers and the Toronto Raptors.
The Golden State Warriors have just two games this week and every other NBA team has three games on their schedules.
Week Eight Waiver Wire Options
Power Forward/Center: Ed Davis has been tearing it up this season and for the life of me I can't believe he's still available in over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues. Two double doubles and shooting 79 percent from the floor in his last five games on 26 minutes a night over those same five games is worthy of a roster spot in any format. Portland has four games this week and if Davis is on your waiver wire take him and thank me later.
Shooting Guard/Small Forward: Kent Bazemore is another player available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues that really should be owned in any format. Over his past 5 games he's knocking down 2 triples a night with 13 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1 assist and a steal per game. Solid shooting percentages straight across the board and with four games this week he'll help you win your matchup.
Center: Joakim Noah is still available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues and when I think of Noah I think of rebounds, assists and blocks. Over his past 5 games he's averaged 9.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.8 blocks in just under 23 minutes on the floor. Normally we look for players averaging at least 25 minutes but with the Bulls playing 4 games this week I would consider making an exception for Noah this week.
Shooting Guard: There was a time not too long ago when the only time Joe Johnson's name would be mentioned in a waiver wire column was if he was injured. Nowadays he's still available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues. Over his past 5 games he's averaging 35 minutes a night, nocking down 1 triple a night with 11 points, 3.8 rebounds and assists and he's been good for a steal or two a night as well. Brooklyn has four games this week and Johnson is worthy of consideration.
Power Forward: Jon Leuer is having a tremendous season and has flown completely under the radar this Fantasy season. Over his past five games he's averaging 32 minutes a night scoring 14 points, 6.8 rebounds and just over 1 block per night. His shooting percentages are solid except for his 66 percent free throw percentage during that stretch but that wouldn't deter me from adding him especially with the Suns having 4 games this week and the mystery illness that Markieff Morris is suffering from. Leuer is available in just over 65 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.
Center: Bismack Biyombo is a rebounder and over his past five games he's averaging 8 of them per game to go along with 7.6 points and 1 block while playing 24.2 minutes per night. His shooting percentage from the floor is very good and his 62 percent percenage from the line could be better. The Raptors have 4 games this week and he is available in just over 80 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.
Shooting Guard: O.J. Mayo has been getting 33 minutes a night over the past 5 games and he is producing averaging 12.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.6 steals per night. He's also shooting 44 percent from the field and has been perfect from the line during that same five game stretch. The Bucks have 4 games this week and Mayo is available in just over 80 percent of Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.
Good luck this week Fantasy Basketball owner!
