2016 Top 20 Shortstop Rankings with Auction Values

Ray updates his 2016 top 20 shortstop rankings, and for the first time ever, he has added auction dollar values for each shortstop ranked.

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Earlier in the offseason, I recall a reader asking if I could add auction dollar values to my rankings this season. I am glad I received this request, as I have wanted to add auction values to my rankings for the longest time, but never did. Thanks for giving me a reason to add them.

WIth that said, here are my early Top 20 Shortstop rankings with auction values. I will admit that these are all "top of my head" rankings, with no clear rhyme or reason, except that I have been participating in auction drafts for quite some time, so I think I have a good idea of what I would spend on each shortstop ranked below.

I have provided auction values for 20 shortstops  below, but you can use these as a barometer for either 12 team or 15 team mixed league auctions. Depending on the size of your league, the inflation in your league, your league rules and constitution, your auction values may vary by a few dollars from my preliminary auction values.

As the offseason rolls along, I will try to refine my auction dollar values for 12 team leagues using a $260 salary cap per team. So, in a 12 team league, there should be $3,120 allocated to 276 hitters and pitchers, assuming 23 man rosters (14 hitters and 9 pitchers).

Below are my early 2016 Top 20 Shortstop Rankings with auction dollar values. Let's discuss my rankings and auction values in the comments section below.
