All of last week's recommendations scored at least 13 fantasy points, which is acceptable. However, none were one of the seven passers to reach 20 fantasy points. Of course, the only one of those seven that was low-owned was Jameis Winston, and missing out on him hurt.
Marcus Mariota, Titans
Week 11 Finish: 10
8.9 of Marcus Mariota's 18.1 points came from rushing, which hid his disappointing zero passing touchdowns. Since Thursday night games can be rough for fantasy purposes (and for general football purposes), I'm not off Mariota this week against a weak Raiders passing defense.
Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jets
Week 11 Finish: 13
With the way the Houston Texans defense has been playing, I'm likely avoiding them in the coming weeks. Ryan Fitzpatrick got by with an okay line in a performance that fell short of my expectations.
Alex Smith, Chiefs
Week 11 Finish: 17
Game flow robbed Alex Smith of what might have been a better fantasy day, as the Chiefs routed the Chargers, 33-3. We know what Smith is.
Brock Osweiler, Broncos
Week 11 Finish: 9
250 yards and two touchdowns was about all you could hope for from Brock Osweiler, especially considering the Broncos scored only 17 points. He's in the streaming class for now.
Matt Hasselbeck, Colts
Week 11 Finish: 18
The two interceptions capped Matt Hasselbeck's fantasy stats, but he was fine in a solid matchup with Atlanta. This week, he faces another week secondary in Tampa Bay.
I know I usually will recommend five lower-owned quarterback streamers, but with the depth at the position this week plus the fact that I cannot in good conscience recommend Mark Sanchez or Kirk Cousins this week. So if none of the top 16 quarterbacks are available, you'll have to bite the bullet and use a lower-tier passer. Of that group, I don't have a clue who will emerge as a top-10 play. Okay, it won't be Case Keenum or Blaine Gabbert.
Here are this week's streamers.
Brian Hoyer against the New Orleans Saints
While Rex Ryan no longer heads the Saints defense, Brian Hoyer should have no problems this week against what is still a bad defense. There's no need to second-guess this one.
Jameis Winston against the Indianapolis Colts
After throwing for five touchdowns in Philadelphia in Week 11, Jameis Winston will likely be more popular this week. I consider Winston boom-or-bust, but am cautiously optimistic about this matchup.
Marcus Mariota against the Oakland Raiders
While I have seen some talk that Marcus Mariota has actually been better on the road than at home, that ignores the fact he has played Buffalo, Miami in the first week of the Dan Campbell era, and Carolina. In a contest against an Oakland pass defense that can be burned, I think Mariota could easily finish inside the top five quarterbacks this week.
