Fantasy Hockey Week 8 Schedule Preview

Favorable schedules, who has an easy road ahead, who has it tough. 11/22/2015 - 11/29/2015.

Marc DesRosiers-USA TODAY Sports

Goals Against - a low ranking means they let in lots of goals (Calgary is letting in 3.70 goals against per game, they are ranked #1).

Goals for - the lower the ranking the more the team scores (Dallas is scoring the most goals for per game at 3.55 and is the number 1 ranking).

So you want to face a team with a low GA and a high GF. This is based off this seasons goals for and against, it will be updated as the season progresses to be a larger aggregate of this year.

Number of games this week:

4 games: Buffalo Sabres, Edmonton Oilers, NY Rangers, Nashville Predators, Philadelphia Flyers, Washington Capitals and Winnipeg Jets.
3 games: Anaheim Ducks, Arizona Coyotes, Boston Sabres, Calgary Flames, Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, Colorado Avalanche, Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings, Florida Panthers, Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild, Montreal Canadiens, NY Islanders, New Jersey Devils, Ottawa Senators, Pittsburgh Penguins, St. Louis Blues and Tampa Bay Lightning
2 games: San Jose Sharks, Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks

Favorable Offensive Matchups:

Colorado Avalanche - Two matchups against Winnipeg (currently allowing 3.15 goals per game, 4th worst team) and one matchup against Ottawa who is allowing 3 goals per game, two home games.
San Jose Sharks - Only two games but against Chicago who is in the middle and Calgary who is allowing the most goals, both at home.
Detroit Red Wings - All three games at home - Boston (3.11 goals against), Edmonton (3.26 goals against) and Florida (2.53 goals against).

Unfavorable Offensive Matchups:

Philadelphia Flyers - It starts easy with Carolina (2.94 goals against) but the next three - Islanders, Predators and Rangers are all allowing fewer than 2.35 goals against. Oh and the Flyers are currently the worst scoring team in the league.
Tampa Bay Lightning - LA, Washington and NYI who are all allowing fewer than 2.35 goals against. Not a favorable week for Stamkos and the Triplets line.
Edmonton Oilers - One favorable matchup at Carolina (2.94 goals against) one average team Detroit (2.47 goals against) but the other two - Washington and Pittsburgh are in the best 4 in goals against. Every game this week is on the road.

Favorable Defensive Matchups:

Nashville Predators - Seth Jones, Shea Weber and Pekka Rinne have it easier this week AFTER facing the Rangers (3.05 goals per game) as they face Buffalo twice and Philadelphia all under 2.3 goals per game.
Edmonton Oilers - Ironically while they are facing tough offenses, they are also facing porous defenses. Besides Washington, the other three are scoring fewer than 2.27 goals per game on average.
Washington Capitals - They are already a stingy defensive team (Thanks Barry Trotz) but they have four games, the first two Edmonton and Winnipeg are average offensively but Tampa Bay and Toronto are under 2.45 goals per game.

Unfavorable Defensive Matchups:

Toronto Maple Leafs - Two games, Boston and Washington who both are scoring 3 goals per game on average.
Vancouver Canucks - Two games against Minnesota and Dallas both on the road. Both opponents are scoring 2.83 goals per game on average.
Ottawa Senators - Three games on the road - Dallas, Colorado and Arizona who are all scoring above 2.79 goals per game.
