Week eight of the Fantasy Hockey season begins Monday November 23rd, 2015. If your team is underperforming there is still plenty of time to get your roster right and if your team is doing well there isn't any harm at peeking at the waiver wire......and if you don't have time I found some widely available gems for you to consider this week.
Teams with four games this week are the Buffalo Sabres, Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers,, Washington Capitals and Winnipeg Jets.
Teams with two games this week are the San Jose Sharks, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Vancouver Canucks. Everyone else has three games this week.
Week Eight Waiver Wire Options
Dan Girardi Defense New York Rangers: Girardi is putting a nice season together with 2 goals and 6 assists with 16 shots on goal for a plus 11 skating 20 minutes a night on the Rangers on the Rangers top blue line. Girardi has 44 hits, 42 blocks and 6 penalty minutes and is available in just over 60 percent of all Major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
Oscar Klefbom Defense Edmonton Oilers: Klefbom is also having a decent season with 3 goals and 7 assists on 25 shots on goal for a minus 4 skating almost 22 minutes on the Oilers second line of defense as well as spending a majority of the time on the Oilers power play. Klefbom has 18 hits, 38 blocks and 6 penalty minutes this season and is available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
Cody Franson Defense Buffalo Sabres: Franson is off to a decent start this season with 2 goals and 7 assists with 37 shots on goal for a minus 3 skating 19 minutes a night on the third line of defense as well as the majority of the Sabres power play. Franson has 25 hits, 14 blocks and 10 minutes in penalties and is available in just over 70 percent of all Major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
Calvin deHaan Defense New York Islanders: deHaan is the only player on this week's list with less than 4 games this week (only 3) but deHaan is having a nice season with 3 goals, 4 assists and 26 shots on goal for a plus 8 skating 21 minutes a night skating on the Islanders second line of defense and spends about 6 percent of the time on the Islanders power play unit. deHaan has 40 hits and 54 blocks with 14 penalty minutes and is available in over 90 percent of all Major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
Jannick Hansen Right Wing Vancouver Canucks: Hansen has been pretty good this season with 5 goals and 6 assists with 38 shots on goal for a plus 8 skating 16 minutes a night on the Canucks top line alongside the Sedin brothers as well as on the Canucks top power play unit. Hansen has 8 hits and nine blocks with 8 penalty minutes and is available in just over 60 percent of all Major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
Kevin Hayes Right Wing New York Rangers: Hayes is also having a nice season thus far with 5 goals and 7 assists on 43 shots on goal for a plus 2 skating just over 13 minutes a night on the Rangers third line as well as the Rangers second power play unit. Hayes has 7 hits, 9 blocks and 6 penalty minutes and is available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
Marcus Johansson Left Wing Washington Capitals: Johansson has been solid this season with 3 goals and 5 assists on 28 shots on goal for a plus 4 skating 18 minutes a night on the Capitals second line as well as the top power play unit. Johansson also has 12 hits and 6 blocks with zero penalty minutes and is available in just over 75 percent of all Major Fantasy Hockey leagues.
