I’m not going to lie. As one of my teams sits 1-3 heading in to week 5 I am beginning to panic. Nothing to serious, but I am preparing myself to the idea that I might not make it out of this season with much to brag about. There is no one to blame but myself though. I went against my better judgment a few times during the draft, and now some of my gut feelings are coming to fruition. In my defense I did draft on my phone at my dads Labor Day cookout. I was attempting to be polite sitting around a circle of friends with my phone down by my side half listening to the conversation, and half trying to beat the clock in my draft. I would glance up to see my fiancee glaring at me from across the yard. It was the kind of "if you don’t auto draft right now I’m going to put you in time out look," that I am all too familiar with. I was out of sync, it seemed like the clock was counting down faster with each pick. All in all I didn’t do half bad, but the team is 1-3 and I am looking to gain any edge that can. Needless to say I am in desperate need of a running back, and a defense.
That’s why the injury report is going to be helpful from here on out. I have been scouring the wire looking for sneaky plays that might see an uptick in production based off of injuries. This week it looks like there might be a shift in the Cowboys backfield after an injury to Lance Dunbar. If Andrew Luck sits tonight then the Texans defense might actually get you some points? Then there is the running back situation up in Seattle. Injury reports are crucial for those looking to edge out their opponent on a week-by-week basis. Because we can’t all draft an all-star squad.

Game Time |
Dwayne Allen, TE (Ankle)
Allen has been a full participant in practice this week. Allen's production will depend greatly on which QB suits up for the colts tonight. |
Probable | Thur 8:25 |
Frank Gore, RB (Foot)
Gore was a full participant this week, and is expected to play. He should be able to produce RB2 numbers against the Texans. |
Probable | Thur 8:25 |
Andrew Luck, QB (Shoulder)
Luck is going to sit tonight according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. |
Out | Thur 8:25 |
Matt Hassleback, QB (Illness)
One thing is certain. When you starting QB is out with an injury the last thing you want to see is your back up on the injury report. Hassleback was apparently in the hospital until 2 am dealing with a virus of some sort. If you were burned last week by the Texans defense, they might be able to redeem themselves this week against the ailing Colts QB. |
Questionable | Thur 8:25 |
Nate Washington, WR (Hamstring) |
Out | Thur 8:25 |
Arian Foster, RB (Groin)
Limited in practice, this probably has more to do with giving the veteran some time to rest. |
Probable | Thur 8:25 |
Brandin Cooks, WR (Ankle)
Limited in practice.

ACTIVE |
Sun 1:00 |
Alshon Jeffery, WR (Hamstring)
Jeffery has yet to practice in full, so until he does there is no reason to expect him to be ready this week. If he does play he is a must start against the Kansas City defense that has given up massive points to opposing WR and QB's.
|
OUT | Sun 1:00 |
Marshawn Lynch, RB (Hamstring)
Lynch has yet to practice this week. Thomas Rawls well get the start if he does not suit up.
|
OUT | Sun 1:00 |
Fred Jackson, RB (Ankle)
Jackson is hopeful that he will play, but if he does not Thomas Rawls will be the only running back behind Marshawn Lynch (who is dealing with his own injury). If you picked up Thomas Rawls on the waiver wire you might hit pay dirt this week.

Julius Thomas, TE (Hand)
Thomas is optimistic that his return is imminent, but he has yet to receive the green light. He was catching passes in a limited fashion at practice which is a good sign. It may not be a week 5 good sign, but good nonetheless.
