Week 7 is in the books, with Week 8 games approaching, fantasy owners will have to be active on the waiver wire with injuries and bye weeks playing a factor now. When looking at the waiver wire, fantasy owners must try and find the best value available. The waiver wire can make or break someone's season, making it crucial to find fantasy football sleeper plays. This list of sleepers will be based off of matchup and projected game plan for week 8 of the NFL season.
Brian Hoyer- With 10 touchdown passes to only 2 interceptions over the past 4 games, Hoyer is turning into a solid QB option for fantasy owners. With the Texans continuing to get behind in games, Hoyer is throwing the ball a ton which will make his fantasy owners happy. Also, with the injury of RB Arian Foster, I expect even more passes to come from Brian Hoyer on Sunday against the Titans. The Titans don’t have that bad of a defense, but with the amount of passes and having Hopkins as your number 1 target, Hoyer is a solid sleeper play at QB for owners struggling to find a starter this week.
Charcandrick West- Not much of a sleeper anymore, but love West for week 8 against the Lions. The Lions are ranked 24th against the rush and are tied for the most rushing touchdowns allowed with 10 on the season. With Andy Reid becoming more comfortable with West, I expect him to see at least 20 carries in Week 8 which can lead to a huge game against that weak Lions run defense. Continue to use West, as he will be a solid RB option for fantasy owners the rest of the year.
Marvin Jones- Has been on my list a few times in the past, Marvin is having a solid season. With a stat-line of 9/95/1 with a total of 12 targets against the Bills in week 6, Marvin is showing to be a reliable target once again for Dalton at QB.With a matchup against division rival Pittsburg, I expect Jones to see around the same amount of targets again. With big play capability and a nose for the end zone, Marvin Jones has solid value and a solid play for fantasy owners who are battling bye weeks and injuries at the wideout position.
Richard Rodgers- An up and down season for Rodgers so far, he will look to get back at it against an elite Broncos defense. But watching the Broncos defense, they are not elite against the tight end position in my eyes. The Packers are still going to put up some points and with top targets James Jones and Randall Cobb most likely going to be covered by Denver’s best, I think Rodgers will be a key red zone target for Aaron Rodgers on Sunday night. Richard Rodgers has been seeing around 6 targets per game and hasn’t scored in 2 games. Certainly a high risk play, but could end up being a great value play for fantasy owners.
