NCAAF Pick'em Straight and Spread Week 7 (with the Thursday NFL game).
The Thursday NFL game is at the very bottom as the remainder of the NFL picks won't be posted until the weekend.
Record in week 6:
Straight 15 out of 19 (78.9%)
Spread 12 out of 19 (63%)
There are some interesting matchups to watch this week. Ole Miss vs. Memphis; Michigan vs. Michigan State and Florida vs. LSU should all be interesting.
UCLA Bruins @ Stanford Cardinal (Stan -6.5)
Straight: UCLA rebounds big here. They come away with a 10+ point win.
Spread: Josh Rosen had a bit of a wakeup call and he'll come out hungry as UCLA wins.
Houston Cougars @ Tulane Green Wave (Hou -17.5)
Straight: Houston stays unbeaten.
Spread: Tulane is a tale of two teams, they win big and lose big (average loss is 41 points, average win is 22 points). In this case, I think they lose by at least 25. Take Houston
Boise State Broncos @ Utah State Aggies (BSU -9.5)
Straight: Boise State comes through again.
Spread: All of Boise State's wins have been by at least 31 points with the exception of Washington who is going to be ranked by year end. Boise State with the points.
Eastern Michigan Eagles @ Toledo Rockets (Tol -29)
Straight: Toledo. Easy.
Spread: The Eagles lost to Akron 47-21. Akron isn't terrible but they aren't great. Toledo should cover the 29 points at home.
Iowa Hawkeyes @ Northwestern Wildcats (Iowa -1)
Straight: Northwestern gets to spend the whole week stewing on that thumping from Michigan, go with the angry team. Wildcats.
Spread: Wildcats win by 10.
West Virginia Mountaineers @ Baylor Bears (Bay -21)
Straight: Baylor. Until they put up less than 50 points one game I'm riding this train.
Spread: Baylor has not lost a game by less than 28.
Ole Miss Rebels @ Memphis Tigers (Miss -10)
Straight: Ole Miss, but don't be dismayed, this has the makings of a dog fight matchup. Memphis will ground and pound with Jarvis Cooper, Sam Craft and Doroland Dorceus.
Spread: Memphis is a solid team, they should keep this game within 10 points.
Louisville Cardinals @ Florida State Seminoles (FSU -7)
Straight: Upset special. Louisville wins. The Cardinals loses are to Houston, Clemson and Auburn. Louisville redeems last year tough loss in the last few minutes vs. the Seminoles.
Oklahoma Sooners @ Kansas State Wildcats (Okla -4.5)
Straight: Oklahoma wins. Kansas State is good but back to back tough matchups, they won't be at their top game.
Spread: Oklahoma covers the points as they bounce back from a rough loss last week to a weak Texas team.
Michigan State Spartans @Michigan Wolverines (Mich -7.5)
Straight: Michigan State has the track record, I trust them with the win.
Spread: Definitely taking Michigan State if you give me 7.5 points too.
Boston College Eagles @ Clemson Tigers (Clem -15)
Straight: Clemson is too powerful right now.
Spread: Fun fact - Boston College has given up 42 points ALL SEASON. That's an average of 7 points per game. I take Boston College to cover.
Florida Gators @ LSU Tigers (LSU - 7.5)
Straight: Grier being out hurts too much, LSU wins. Florida will rally hard in this game to give it a good fight though.
Spread: Florida has one of the best defensive units in the country, they will cover the points on this, likely a 3 or 7point loss.
TCU Horned Frogs @ Iowa State Cyclones (TCU -20.5)
Straight: TCU wins big after a close one last week.
Spread: TCU should cover this amount but it will be close. TCU with the points.
USC Trojans @ Notre Dame Fighting Irish (ND -7)
Straight: Notre Dame. This isn't a feel good story for USC, this is a program that is in disarray currently.
Spread: 4 out of 5 Notre Dame wins have been over 7 points (the other was 7 points exactly). Notre Dame covers the points.
Penn State Nittany Lions @ Ohio State Buckeyes (OSU -17)
Straight: Ohio State pulls out another close one.
Spread: This game will be within 10 points. OSU isn't covering any of these spreads but they are winning.
Arizona State Sun Devils @ Utah Utes (Utah -7)
Straight: The Utes will continue their undefeated streak.
Spread: Home game late - Utah wins by 10.
NFL Thursday Game
Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints (Atl -3)
Straight: Atlanta will continue their undefeated streak in this divisional matchup.
Spread: I can't side with the Saints, they continue to be a mess. Take Atlanta.
