Week 4 Injury Roundup: Saturday Night Update 10/3

Here is a more in depth look at the injury updates form around the league heading into tomorrow's week 4 action. I am updating this tonight due to the early morning game in London between the Dolphins and the Jets. Here is all I know, plus more that I don't, and a little advice on the side.

This past Sunday was like Christmas morning in the Patterson house. LeVeon bell returned to my lineup, and Mike Evans caught his first pass of the year. Greg Olsen and Randall Cobb both lived up to the expectations that I drafted them under, and everyone stayed off of the injury reports.

Not everyone was so lucky, and with the Thursday night game just a few hours away it’s important to know who will play and who will sit for week 4. Be sure to check back in for Sunday’s game time update before you set your lineup. Here is your week 4 injury roundup.

(Keep in mind the game between the Dolphins and the Jets is in London this week. Kickoff is at 9:30 am.)

Players

Status

Game Time

Crockett Gilmore, TE (Calf)

Gilmore will be sitting Thursdays game out.

Out
Thur 8:25

Breshad Perriman, WR (Knee)

Out
Thur 8:25

Ben Rothlisberger, QB (Knee)

Rothlisberger was carted off the field last week after suffering a knee injury he will be missing from action for a few weeks.  His back up Michael VIck will get the start, and while this isn't necessarily great news for Antonio Brown owners, LeVeon Bell could see an uptick in carries.

Out
Thur 8:25

John Brown, WR (Shoulder)

Brown was limited in practice this week.

Update: John Brown, while still limited in practice is expected to play Sunday against the Rams.

Probable
Sun 4:25

Andre Ellington, RB (Knee)

Limited in practice this week.

Update: 50:50, Game-Time-Call are a few terms I have heard in regard to Andre Ellington's return.  If you have someone else on your roster I would play him because Chris Johnson will eat into Ellington's production upon his return.

Game Time
Sun 4:25

Tevin Coleman, RB (Ribs)

Has not practiced yet this week.

Update: Coleman has officially been given the day off this Sunday.  Devonta Freeman owners should be starting him.

Out
Sun 1:00

Devonta Freeman, RB (Toe)

Limited in practice so far this week.  If Coleman is a scratch this week look for Freeman to get the start after he had a monster week 3.

Update: Probable

Probable
Sun 1:00

Julio Jones, WR (Toe, Hamstring)

Has not practiced this week.  Be prepared for a game time decision if he does not practice by Friday.

Update: Jones has been upgraded to probable, lets face it you have Julio Jones on your roster it would take a lot for you to bench him.

Probable
Sun 1:00

Dan Carpenter, K (Left Knee)

Has not practiced yet this week.

Update: Probable

Probable
Sun 1:00

Percy Harvin, WR (Hip)

Harvin has not practiced yet this week.

Update: Harvin is probable after being a full participant in practice.  For all of you fantasy owners looking to gamble Harvin might see an uptick in production with Sammy Watkins and LeSean McCoy out.

Probable
Sun 1:00

LeSean McCoy, RB (Hamstring)

He has not practiced yet this week.

Update: Is out for week 4 in order to fully heal.

Out Sun 1:00

Tyrod Taylor, QB (Ankle)

Full participant in practice.

Probable
Sun 1:00

Sammy Watkins, WR (Calf)

Has not practiced yet this week.

Update: Watkins will remain on the sideline for week 4.

Out
Sun 1:00

Jericho Cotchery, WR (Ankle)

Did not practice.

Update: Cotchery is expected to be out until after the Panthers come back from their week 5 bye.

Out
Sun 1:00

Jonathan Stewart, RB (Tibia)

Has not practiced yet this week.

Update: The Panthers are trying to keep Stewart fresh during the week to handle the heavy work load he has been seeing.  Looks like he will play this week.

Probable Sun 1:00

Jay Cutler, QB (Hamstring)

Limited in practice

Update: Here is another 50:50 player that could play, but honestly probably won't.  If Alshon Jeffery doesn't play but Cutler does I still wouldn't start him.  At this point the two need each other for fantasy relevance.

Questionable
Sun 1:00

Alshon Jeffery, QB (Hamstring)

Limited in practice

Update: Dittto everything I just said about Jay Cutler.

Questionable
Sun 1:00

Travis Benjamin, WR (Ribs)

Limited in practice.

Update: Benjamin is probable? I guess? I still haven't heard much news on him.  Regardless his fantasy numbers depend on who is throwing him the ball, and I think Manziel is the guy that can match his speed on the deep ball.

Probable
Sun 4:05

Jason Witten, TE (Ankle, Knee)

Full practice.

Update:  The team feels that Witten is over his shopping list of injuries from week 3.  He is a fantastic start against the Saints defense that just let Greg Olsen walk all over them in week 3.

Probable
Sun 8:30

Devante Adams, WR (Ankle)

Has not practiced yet this week.

Update: Devante Adams is doubtful this week.  That means that Cobb and Jones are both WR1 in my book.

Doubtful
Sun 4:25

Randall Cobb, WR (Shoulder)

Full practice participant

Update: PLAY THIS MAN... DON'T THINK ABOUT IT

Probable
Sun 4:25

Eddie Lacy, RB (Ankle)

Full practice.

Probable
Sun 4:25

Arian Foster, RB (Groin)

Limited practice.

Update: I am one of those people who has foster on my bench itching to get him in the lineup, but I don't think I will play him because even if he does start he will likely be limited in the first game back.  They are calling it a game-time-decision

Game Time
Sun 1:00

Dwayne Allen, TE (Ankle)

Did not practice.

Update: Game-Time-Decision

Game Time
Sun 1:00

Andrew Luck, QB (Shoulder)

Limited in practice

Update: If you opened this, and scrolled all the way down here just to see what I had to say about Luck then I'm sorry.  That means that you drafted one of the biggest busts in fantasy so far this season.  I'm going to say that he will probably play this week, but I don't know if I would start him.

Probable Sun 1:00

Julius Thomas, TE (Finger)

Limited in practice

Update: There was some talk he would be back this week, but alas, it was just talk.

Out
Sun 1:00

Allen Hurns, WR (Thigh)

Limited in practice.

Update: Hurn's is probably playing, and he probably could possibly have a big week if Vontae Davis is preoccupied else where.

Probable
Sun 1:00

Jonas Gray, RB (Calf)

Missed practice on Thursday.

Update: Jonas Gray is still questionable, but I am going to roll the dice for three reasons.  1) I am desperate for a week 4 number 2 back with potential.  2) He plays at 9:30 in the morning tomorrow and I probably will not hear a definitive answer on his status between now and then.  3) because Tre Mason isn't doing anthing

Questionable
Sun 9:30 am

Charles Johnson, WR (Ribs)

Did not practice.

Update: Out

Out Sun 4:25

Drew Brees, QB (Shoulder)

Limited in practice.

Update: Breezus is coming back

Probable
Sun 8:30

Brandin Cooks, WR (Ankle)

Limited in practice.

Update: Probable

Probable
Sun 8:30

Victor Cruz, WR (Calf)

Limited in practice.

Update: Cruz will sit out week 4 after having platelets injected into his calf to help with the healing.  Get well soon.

Out
Sun 1:00

Eric Decker, WR (Knee)

Did not practice.

Questionable
Sun 9:30 am

Chris Ivory, RB (Quadriceps)

Limited in practice

Update: Probable... Make sure you do a discount DOUBLE CHECK on that before you go to bed because they will be playing before you wake up.

Questionable
Sun 9:30 am

Demarco Murray, RB (Hamstring)

Limited in practice.

Update:  No news so far, but I can tell you that if you haven't began to find another option for Murray now might be a good time to start regardless if he plays or not.

Questionable
Sun 1:00

Marshawn Lynch, RB (Hamstring)

Lynch might miss his first game since 2011 on Monday night in week 4.  He is listed as questionable.  If he doesn't play I would pick up Thomas Rawls if you haven't already.

Questionable
