Today, we start with the obvious. The Oakland Raiders cannot defend tight ends. The Raiders have allowed five touchdowns to tight ends in just three weeks, and they travel to Chicago to take on the Bears this Sunday. If you happen to own Martellus Bennett, you must start him this weekend. For one week only, he is an elite play (despite the quarterback situation). For daily purposes, he is a solid value on FanDuel and DraftKings. I will certainly have some exposure after ignoring the signs that told me to roster Gary Barnidge in Week 3.
Charles Clay has two touchdowns for Tyrod Taylor so far and he may add to that total against the Giants this weekend in Buffalo. Sammy Watkins is nursing a calf injury and is considered day-to-day. Clay is a slam-dunk TE1 as long as this status quo holds up in Buffalo.
There are multiple injuries to check on before lineups lock on Sunday. Ladarius Green is questionable with a concussion, Jordan Cameron is nursing a groin injury, Vernon Davis has a knee strain, and Dwayne Allen did not practice on Wednesday but expects to play on Sunday. I suppose you could start Allen if you were desperate, but I hate starting a player in the first game back from injury. Make him prove his health to you first, if you are able. For me, Coby Fleener is still the play this Sunday.
No Rob Gronkowski this week is a sad, sad thing. Welcome to the big show, Greg Olsen. Good luck in your matchups, and remember to keep an eye on those injuries leading up to Sunday.
