DFS: Top MLB FanDuel Plays For Wednesday September 3rd

The middle of the week is here, which means we are officially in splitville.  Not too many great pitching options tonight, but we will make the best of it.  Once again I appreciate everyone who's toughed it out MLB with me over the last couple of weeks, I know everyone is focusing on NFL.  Good luck to everyone tonight, and see y'all on Friday for our next DFS article.

SP - Andrew Cashner, San Diego Padres, $7,800 - I love me some Cashner.  I had him as a breakout candidate (like many other writers), but injuries derailed his season.  Cashner looked great in his last outing against the Dodgers, and should continue enjoying success tonight against the Diamondbacks.

C - Jason Castro, Houston Astros, $2,800 - Castro has a tough task tonight with Weaver on the mound for the Halos.  Weaver has struggled on the road, and the Astros are a boom or bust team, I wouldn't recommend Castro for cash games, but he makes a great GPP play.

1B - David Ortiz, Boston Red Sox, $4,300 - Ortiz loves playing in the Bronx, and he loves hitting off Kuroda.  With the short porch in right field Ortiz is a threat to hit a bomb or two.

2B - Brian Dozier, Minnesota Twins, $3,600 - Dozier gets to tee off of John Danks tonight.  All Twins players should be considered tonight in GPP's.  I wouldn't look any further at 2B tonight since Dozier is the clear-cut number one option.

3B - Adrian Beltre, Texas Rangers, $3,100 - It's really a toss up between Beltre and Plouffe at third base tonight.  Beltre saves you some cap money, and is in a good spot against Jason Vargas.

SS - Alexei Ramirez, Chicago White Sox, $3,000 - Ramirez is a great cash game option, his consistency has earned him a spot on my roster night in and night out.  The Twins will send rookie pitcher Trevor May, who's had a problem walking players, and in his last start he gave up multiple homeruns.

OF - Alex Gordon, Kansas City Royals, $3,500 - Gordon is a great option tonight at OF, the Royals take on the Rangers and Nick Tepesch.  This game can go two ways - low scoring, or a slugfest, I am leaning towards slugfest.

OF - Adam Jones, Baltimore Orioles, $3,500 - Jones is a great GPP play tonight due to Axelrod's reverse splits.  Axelrod struggles against RHB.... Who am I kidding he struggles against any handed batter.

OF - Billy Hamilton, Cincinnati Reds, $3,300 - Hamilton is in a good spot tonight against Miguel Gonzalez.  The Reds are in Baltimore, which is a great park for hitters, and as we saw last night a lot of runs can be put up.  Hamilton is going to slug any homeruns, but he will provide speed that is as useful.

As always please check lineups and weather conditions before rosters lock, nothing is worse than having inactive players on a daily fantasy roster.
