Week 3 Wide Receiver Rankings

Should you trust Marques Colston after a zero target effort? Is Jeremy Maclin a must start? All those questions answered, as Robert takes over the WR ranking duties, and offers up his top 50 for week 3.

Ezra Shaw

Hello everyone I will be taking over the WR rankings for the rest of the season, and will give a similar structure as to the one I do with the TE rankings.  I will give my top 50 WR's, and will also give a few notes on some guys who I find interesting cases for this week.

As we are now entering the third week of the season, the injury bug has started to take its toll on a few of the fantasy relevant WR's.  It is tough to know for sure if some of the injury risks like A.J. Green, or Roddy White will suit up this week, until we get the conformation.  I am going to assume that both White and Green will play this week.  Players that are on the injury report are ones you always have to monitor, since at a moments notice they could be deactivated during warmups, or cleared to go.  Those of you who had taken the risk to start Brandon Marshall know that waiting as long as possible can pay off.  The Marshall case of last week was interesting because I was telling people to wait out his status if you had another option on Sunday night or Monday night.  Those decisions are tough, and If I owned Marshall in a league and didn't have someone I could have thrown in if he was deactivated, I would have started someone from an early game to minimize the risk.  These decisions are ones you will be stuck with at some point in the season, so just remember that you are making the choice you feel is right to help your team win that week.

Now a couple of comments on a few guys:

Michael Floyd: Hasn't scored a TD yet, but he goes up against the 49ers who were just destroyed by Jay Cutler and his passing attack.  Whether it is Palmer or Stanton behind center, I see a big game out of Floyd with 100 yards and a score.

Keenan Allen: A quiet start to his season so far, and one that really isn't worrying me.  He is a great route runner, and had developed a good connection with Rivers last season.  I see him getting in the endzone this week, and reestablishing himself as a top 15 play at WR.

Mike Wallace: I wrote about him earlier this week, but I love what the Dolphins are doing.  They are working hard at getting him the ball through running a more variety of routes.  I didn't expect that to happen, but now that it has he is a top 20 option.

Marques Colston: As a Colston owner who started him last week, I can understand your frustration with him.  Not much you can do about his stats last week, but don't let that persuade you into benching him over guys lower on this list.  He will still receive his targets, and I don't see him getting phased out of the offense anytime soon.

If you would like to know more about other WR's, leave a comment and I will get to it.
