The last week of "all MLB, all the time" has begun. I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, and is ready to grind out the last little bit of baseball with me. We have 10 games on the schedule tonight, with some decent pitching options, and some terrible ones to pick on. There are no Coors games tonight, but they are in action in San Francisco. Good luck to everyone tonight, and I'll be back tomorrow with some more tips.
SP - Kyle Lohse, Milwaukee Brewers, $6,600 - Lohse heads to the pitchers heaven known as Petco Park. The Padres have been pretty good offensively since the all-star break, but they are still the Padres. Lohse has the best matchup and park factor today, and he is priced extremely low which gives him value.
C - Buster Posey, San Francisco Giants, $3,600 - Posey gets to hit off of Rockies lefty Tyler Matzek today, and as we know Posey is a lefty killer. Sure I expect better things out of Matzek outside of Coors, but he is still a fringe pitching option at best as of right now.
1B - Adam Lind, Toronto Blue Jays, $2,800 - Lind might be the best GPP play of the night, he fit's both the BVP and wOBA angles, great hitters park, and Clay Bucholz, seems like a recipe for success.
2B - Chase Utley, Philadelphia Phillies, $3,400 - Not a lot of matchup history between Utley and his opposing pitcher tonight. But the Phillies are the type of offense that can get the better of Tanner Roark. Roark's FIP versus LHB on the road is close to 5, and I expect some runs scored tonight.
3B - Kyle Seager, Seattle Mariners, $3,100 - When a weak right-handed pitcher comes to Seattle, Seager should always be in your lineup. With a .489 wOBA and .383 ISO at home versus RHP it's really criminal not to play Seager.
SS - Jose Reyes, Toronto Blue Jays, $4,000 - The Jays offense has been brutal over the last week minus that one game in Milwaukee. I expect things to turn around tonight in Toronto against Bucholz, and it has to start to Reyes.
OF - Yoenis Cespedes, Boston Red Sox, $3,900 - This is Cespedes' first trip to Toronto as a member of the Red Sox, and unfortunately for the blue birds they will have to see him a lot more now. J.A. Happ takes the mound for the Jays tonight, while he's been lights out at home, Cespedes does seem like the guy who light him up.
OF - Kole Calhoun, Los Angeles Angels, $3,500 - Hot hitting Kole has been a regular in my cash game lineups. He draws a great matchup against Jared Cosart, and I predict a lot of runs scored (on both sides).
OF - Andrew McCutchen, Pittsburgh Pirates, $4,100 - McCutchen should be a good cash game or GPP play, since I don't expect many people to be on him tonight. The Pirates are a very good home hitting team, which is why I avoided Lackey tonight. McCutchen has a ridiculous .443 wOBA against RHP at home, which adds fuel to the fire.
As always please check lineups and weather conditions before rosters lock, nothing is worse than having inactive players on a daily fantasy roster.
