DFS: DraftKings Top Plays For Wednesday May 21st

The daily fantasy grind never stops. Here are our recommended plays for Wednesday's DraftKings lineups.

Jamie Squire

I guess the advice I gave yesterday wasn't that bad, got a few homers in that lineup, both pitchers won, Justin Smoak was a piece of crap as usual - and Kyle Seager actually gets to live in another day in my mind.  Wednesday is an interesting day since a lot of the games I like are during the day, but I won't touch the day card with only three games.  Three game slates are the luck of the draw, and would advise you to stay away (Monday was a five game slate which was tough as well).  The weather tonight looks a bit sketchy, so check the games you play frequently, and try and avoid using pitchers in games that could be delayed.

All players' prices based on DraftKings values

SP 1 - Chris Tillman, Baltimore Orioles, $7,800 - Tillman bounced back nicely in his last start throwing a complete game shut out - obviously this was the only time I didn't use Tillman since he burns me every time like...... you get the point.  Tillman faces a struggling Pirates squad who aren't scaring anybody currently - I think its time they call up Gregory Polanco.

SP 2 - Hyun-Jin Ryu, Los Angeles Dodgers, $8,200 - Ryu returns to the rotation after a short stint on the disabled list, and faces the Mets.  The Mets struggle against lefties, so I like this spot for Ryu.  The other day I took Gio Gonzalez against them and it blew up in my face - but as I always say, even the right call is wrong sometimes.

C - Derek Norris, Oakland Athletics, $4,200 - Norris should be in the lineup today to face the lefty Eric Bedard.  Norris annihilates left handed pitching, so this should be a good play.  If you want to get cute, look at Ryan Doumit today if he is in the lineup.

1B - Adrian Gonzalez, Los Angeles Dodgers, $4,800 - Gonzalez is starting a hot streak - I can feel it.  He squares off against the Mets rookie Jacob deGrom who was impressive in his first start against the Yankees - but let's face it, the Dodgers should hit him, and hit him hard.

2B - Nick Punto, Oakland Athletics, $2,800 - You can't spell Punto without the "p-u-n-t".

3B - Juan Francisco, Toronto Blue Jays, $4,700 - Francisco Vs. Clay Bucholz.  Minimum three homers for Francisco tonight - If not Ray will refund your buy-in for your tournaments and cash games (not really).

SS - J.J. Hardy, Baltimore Orioles, $3,500 - Can this guy hit a homerun already??? Hardy is batting for a decent average, so hopefully Wandy can help his power struggles.

OF 1- Charlie Blackmon, Colorado Rockies, $5,300 - Chuck Nazty has hit off Matt Cain pretty well so far with a .500 batting average, one homer and two RBIs.  This is a home game for Blackmon so you know what means - bad news for the Giants.

OF 2 - Jason Heyward, Atlanta Braves, $3,800 - Seems like this guy is always in my lineup - hopefully tonight it pays off.  Heyward is 4 for 10, with four extra base hits, a homer, two RBIs and a partridge in a pear tree.

OF 3 - Nelson Cruz, Baltimore Orioles, $4,800 - Nelson Cruz gets left handed Wandy Rodriguez tonight, and the further I get in to this article, the more I lean towards an Orioles stack for tourney play.  Cruz is a streaky hitter, and he is on the positive side of the streak, use him while he is hot.

As always be sure to check the weather in the city your players are playing in. Don't forget to check lineups either, nothing worse than having a rostered player on your squad that isn't in the lineup.
