DFS: DraftKings Top Plays For Monday May 19th

The daily fantasy grind never stops. Here are our recommended plays for Mondays's DraftKings lineups.

Mike Ehrmann

I can't believe the MLB season is already a quarter done, before you know it I will be writing about NFL & NBA DFS - Yes, that's right.  What did you think I would only help you guys with MLB?

Today has a really small slate of games, so I will just highlight certain players I think have value and can perform well based on their prices.  This article will be short and sweet, and hopefully MLB doesn't have many more of these five game days.

All players' prices based on DraftKings values

SP - Wily Peralta, Milwaukee Brewers, $8,900 - Peralta is my favorite pitcher on the night, he takes on the Atlanta Braves in Atlanta - and that doesn't frighten me one bit.  Peralta has 0.69 ERA in two career starts against the Braves, and lets face it they made Ryan Vogelsong look like Max Scherzer the other night strikeout wise.

C - Tyler Flowers, Chicago White Sox, $3,100 - Flowers is a cheap option tonight against Jason Vargas.  Flowers is batting .400 against left handed pitching this season with two homers.

1B - I like Eric Hosmer (Kansas City Royals) priced at $3,800 or Albert Pujols Anaheim Angels priced $4,700.  Both of these guys have good pitching matchups tonight, and Pujols seems to be starting another one of his hot streaks.  Go with the one who fits your budget better.

2B - Rickie Weeks, Milwaukee Brewers, $3,500 - Weeks is starting to look like the player he was in 2012, or maybe this is just a showcase for him to get traded - either way he faces left handed Mike Minor tonight, and should be worthy of a roster spot.

3B - Not really crazy about anyone at 3B today, so pick your poison, I am leaning towards cheaper options like Danny Valencia or Matt Dominguez, both priced at $3,200 or lower.

SS - There are two guys I am looking at - 1) Alexei Ramirez, Chicago White Sox, $4,600 and 2) Erick Aybar, Anaheim Angels, $3,800.  Both have good matchups, I will most likely wait until batting orders come out until I make a final decision.

OF - Value wise you could go with Alex Gordon (Kansas City Royals), who is priced at $3,900 - he faces Scott Carroll who is terrible.  I also like the Brewers outfielders (Ryan Braun, Carlos Gomez, or Khris Davis), they are a tad bit expensive but should earn their value.

The highest game total tomorrow is 8.5 runs - Chicago White Sox at Kansas City , which is kind of funny since the Royals aren't really that great at scoring runs (excluding yesterday).

The lowest total tomorrow 6.5 - Cincinnati Reds at Washington, Mike Leake Vs. Stephen Strasburg, so it's understandable.  I most likely will avoid rostering any of these players anyways especially with Joey Votto and Jay Bruce out.

As always be sure to check the weather in the city your players are playing in. Don't forget to check lineups either, nothing worse than having a rostered player on your squad that isn't in the lineup.
