Streamer Report: Friday's Streaming Pitcher Options

Ray highlights some starting pitcher options that you should consider streaming on Friday, including Travis Wood, Mike Leake and Jorge De La Rosa.

Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports

The Streamer Report provides you with daily startng pitcher streaming selections for owners who prefer to stream starting pitchers on a daily basis. This report identifies starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who either has a decent track record vs their opponent, has pitched well of late, or has a decent matchup.

Friday's  Streamers

Travis Wood, Cubs vs Cardinals

Wood is owned in a little over 14% of leagues and faces the Cardinals at home on Friday afternoon. Wood got knocked around in his last outing, but has given up three runs or less in his previous four starts. In fives starts last season, Wood went 1-3 with a 4.91 ERA, but the 2014 Cardinals are not your 2013 Cardinals, so look for Wood to pitch well on Friday.

Mike Leake, Reds vs Brewers

Leake is available in 86% of leagues and faces a very hot Brewers team that is riddled with injuries to some of their top hitters, including Ryan Braun, Jean Segura and Aramis Ramirez. In two starts vs the Brewers last year, Leake went 1-0 with a 4.05 ERA, and should have his way vs the decimated Brewers lineup.

Jorge De La Rosa, Rockies vs Mets

JDLR is owned in less than 2% of leagues but is facing the Mets, and more importantly, pitching at home on Friday. He is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA at home this season, and was 10-1 with a 2.76 ERA in 14 home starts last season. JDLR is an excellent streamer when pitching at Coors Field, which goes against the mindset of most fantasy writers, including me.

Weekly Streamer Performance

I will be providing a status of how my picks have performed over the course of the season, and below you can find how my picks fared this week.

I am thinking about narrowing my search when selecting streaming pitchers in May, as some of my less attractive choices have been getting hit hard in April.
