Wayne Rooney has been ruled out of this weeks clash against Newcastle and is now a serious doubt for the crucial second leg Champions League match against Bayern Munich.
Rooney has a stubbed toe - not really, it's a little more serious than that. Take it over Mr. Chosen One:
"Wayne is injured. He has a badly bruised toe so he won't be involved [against Newcastle]. It will be touch and go for Wayne for Wednesday. With a lot of toe injuries you have to make sure there isn't a hairline fracture or crack in your toe. We will have all that checked.
"It is a toe injury and they are never easy when you get one. You could see him limping in the game towards the end quite badly. There is not an awful lot you can do with a toe injury – sometimes you can feel better quite quickly with them and sometimes you need an injection possibly to play with it if it is bruising."
Well, that doesn't sound fun at all. Manchester United are already depleted in the striking department with Robin Van Persie out for a month. Moyes will have to rely on gool ol' Danny Welbeck and seldom used Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez to lead the line.
United should be able to skate past Newcastle without their two best strikers but then again, they should also be a lot better than 7th place in the standings. But they're not, because, well, they suck.
If Wayne Rooney can't get healthy in time for the Bayern clash, United can kiss good bye any slim hopes they had of advancing past the German giants after managing a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
