The Streamer Report provides you with daily startng pitcher streaming selections for owners who prefer to stream starting pitchers on a daily basis. This report identifies starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who either has a decent track record vs their opponent, has pitched well of late, or has a decent matchup.
Friday's Streamers
Henderson Alvarez, Marlins vs Mets
Alvarez is coming off a near perfect game in his last start, and for some reason is still available in 98% of leagues. I assume most leagues at 10-12 team leagues, but it doesn't hurt to stash a young pitcher on your bench in case he breaks out. In his two starts last season vs the Mets, Alvarez was 2-0 with a 1.26 ERA and a .196 batting average allowed.
Josh Beckett, Dodgers vs Rockies
Beckett is available in 92% of leagues right now and he gets the Rockies at home. The Rockies, as you know, hit far better at home than on the road, so Beckett is a solid play on Friday night. Beckett hasn't allowed a run in each of his last two starts, and owns an ERA of 2.57 and a WHIP of 1.14 in his 14 innings on the mound.
Robbie Ross, Rangers vs Mariners
Ross is available in 90% of leagues right now and he faces a Mariners team that is struggling to score runs of late. Ross is looking to rebound from a poor start vs the White Sox, and comes into Friday night's game with a respectable 2.31 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 23.1 innings.
Weekly Streamer Performance
I will be providing a status of how my picks have performed over the course of the season, and below you can find how my picks fared this week. Week 4 of the 2014 baseball season has been a struggle, as you can see what a few bad outings can do to your ERA and WHIP categories.
