The Streamer Report provides you with daily startng pitcher streaming selections for owners who prefer to stream starting pitchers on a daily basis. This report identifies starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who either has a decent track record vs their opponent, has pitched well of late, or has a decent matchup.
Thursday's Streamers
Corey Kluber, Indians vs Royals
Kluber is owned in just over 12% of leagues right now, and for good reason. He hasn't pitched well this season, and enters Thursday's game vs the Royals with a 5.40 ERA and a 1.71 WHIP. Not what you expected from him on draft day. Kluber gets the Royals on Thursday afternoon, a team that ranks 27th in runs scored and deal last in home runs this season. Kluber was 2-0 with a 3.28 ERA in four starts vs the Royals last season.
Bartolo Colon, Mets vs Cardinals
Colon's season stats aren't pretty (5.40 ERA and 1.48 WHIP), but he has given up three runs or less in three of his four starts this season. His one bad start vs the Angels, he gave up nine runs on 11 hits in five innings. Colon faces the Cardinals who aren't your 2013 Cardinals, as they rank in the bottom third in runs scored this season, so Colon should fare well pitching at home on Thursday.
Ricky Nolasco, Twins vs Tigers
On paper this does not appear to be a good matchup, but Nolasco is better than he has shown thus far in 2014. He faces a Tiger lineup that has struggled to score runs this season, ranking 26th in runs scored this season. Actually, only two teams have scored less runs than the Tigers this season-Astros and Padres.
Weekly Streamer Performance
I will be providing a status of how my picks have performed over the course of the season, and below you can find how my picks fared this week. Week 4 of the 2014 baseball season has been a struggle, as you can see what a few bad outings can do to your ERA and WHIP categories. I am looking at you Kyle Gibson, Bruce Chen and Juan Nicasio.
