Streamer Report: Opening Day Streaming Pitcher Options

Ray highlights some starting pitcher options that you should consider streaming on Opening Day.

Dustin Bradford

The Streamer Report provides you with daily startng pitcher streaming selections for owners who prefer to stream starting pitchers on a daily basis. This report identifies starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who either has a decent track record vs their opponent, has pitched well of late, or has a decent matchup.

Opening Day Streamers

Since most of the ace starting pitchers are pitching on Opening Day, the streaming options are pretty slim, but there are a few pitchers you can consider.

Jorge De La Rosa, COL vs Miami

De La Rosa is the Rockies opening day starter and is owned in just 3% of ESPN leagues at the moment. JDLR has a tasty Opening Day start vs the Marlins on the road, pitching in the spacious Marlins Park. Last season, he went 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA in two starts vs the Marlins.

Brandon McCarthy, ARI vs Giants

McCarthy gets the Opening Day start for the Diamondbacks, and is owned in less than 1% of ESPN leagues right now. Despite pitching at home, McCarthy is a decent option, as he faces the Giants on Monday. Last season, McCarthy went 1-0 with a 3.21 ERA with a 12-2 strikeout to walk rate in two starts vs the Giants.

Ricky Nolasco, MIN vs White Sox

Nolasco gets the Opening Day start vs the White Sox tomorrow, and is owned in just 7% of ESPN leagues. Last season, Nolasco made one start vs the White Sox, giving up just one run on eight hits, six strikeouts and no walks in 7.2 innings, and I think he can have the same success on Monday.
