Week 8 PPR WR/TE Sleepers
As we come to the end on week 7 in this NFL season, injuries are starting to affect fantasy teams all around. With teams on their bye weeks as well, it is my job to give you the best advice for up and coming receivers and tight ends that can help fantasy owners in PPR format leagues. As everyone knows, WR and TE are very important to fantasy owners in PPR leagues. This makes it crucial to find those under the radar guys during waivers each week. Don't miss out on the next big stud.
Heading into week 8
All players on my list are owned in less than 30% of ESPN Leagues
Doug Baldwin - Wide Receiver - Seattle Seahawks (19.4% owned)
With the departure of Percy Harvin, stud quarterback Russell Wilson has found his new favorite target. Doug Baldwin had 7 catches for 123 yards and a touchdown during week 7 against the Rams. This is a great sign for fantasy owners who are struggling to find a receiver or flex play for this upcoming week. A start against a struggling Carolina Panthers defense gives Baldwin even more upside. Baldwin doesn't have ideal size as a receiver but has precise route running which separates himself from corners. Also with the run heavy offense of Seattle, look for Wilson to take a couple deep shots down the field to Seattle's number 1 target, Mr. Baldwin. Give Doug a shot this week as I predict another strong outing this upcoming week.
Jarvis Landry - Wide Receiver - Miami Dolphins (0.9% owned)
For those owners who are in desperate need of a flex play for week 8 should give Jarvis Landry a look. Jarvis is getting around 5 receptions week to week and facing a Jacksonville Jaguars defense that struggles against the pass. Ryan Tannehill also was on fire last week and will look to keep that up as well. As long as Ryan continues to throw the ball well, then Jarvis will get plenty of looks as he is one of the top options in Miami. Jarvis Landry has a lot of upside here in week 8.
Allen Robinson - Wide Receiver - Jacksonville Jaguars (1.3% owned)
We will stick with this match up between the Dolphins and Jaguars. Yes, Dolphins defense is really tough this year but this will also take away the run game from the Jaguars which will force them to air the ball out. Allen Robinson continues to be one of Blake's go to guys, getting plenty of targets on the season. Allen has 29 catches in the last 6 games. That's a very solid amount for a guy who is owned in less than 2% of leagues. He is definitely a guy worth looking at as a late flex option here in week 8.
Owen Daniels - Tight End - Baltimore Ravens (22.1% owned)
Owen was on my list last week and will be on my list once again. As the ravens get in the red one, they seem to always use play action and go to their tight ends. This happens especially inside the 5 yard line. The Ravens will also be facing a struggling Bengals defense as well this week who have allowed over 100 points in the last 3 games. Joe Flacco continues to play great as well this year which will lead to solid value for the veteran tight end. Owen Daniel's is a solid start this week for those who don't have the elite tight ends on their teams.
Charles Clay - Tight End - Miami Dolphins (12.5% owned)
Another Dolphin's option will be on my list as well. Look for Charles Clay to be involved a solid amount against a struggling Jaguars defense. Clay finally got his first touchdown on the season which got him back on the radar. He isn't an elite tight end option but is a solid option for those with tight ends either injured or on bye week. Charles has fantastic route running ability and there aren't many linebackers or safeties in this league who can cover him. Mr. Clay could be a very solid start for some fantasy owners this week.
