In the same week that we witnessed Peyton Manning break Brett Favre's touchdown record, we were still left wanting more. Week 7 was very weak for fantasy as only two teams scored more than 30 points. A few quarterbacks - like Wilson, Manning, and Rodgers - had decent fantasy outings and Ryan Tannehill emerged as the best streaming option of the week. However, most others seemed to severely underperform expectations. Kaep, Cam, and Dalton couldn't get anything going against their opponents. Cousins - in a good matchup against Tennessee - was forced to the bench and lost his job to Colt McCoy. And right after the news of contract extension talks with Brian Hoyer arose in Cleveland, he had a horrible performance against the 0-6 Jaguars that might end up being the turning point toward an impending move to "Johnny Football."
Week 8 should be a completely different story. Vegas has set the over/unders for four total matchups at 50 points or above, implying that these games should be very high scoring.
WAS @ DAL - 50
CHI @ NE - 50.5
SD @ DEN - 51
GB @ NO - 55.5
Also, the IND/PIT and PHI/ARI matchups are set at 49 and 48 respectively and might be a set too low for what could be two more shootouts in a very exciting and fantasy friendly week.
Throughout this week, we will witness Manning vs Rivers, Rodgers vs Brees, Wilson vs Cam, Brady vs Cutler, and Luck vs Ben. This should be a great week of football - both for viewing and fantasy - to make up for the downer that was week 7.
Picking which quarterback will lead their team to victory will be a tough task. But, more importantly, picking which one will lead your fantasy team to victory will be even more difficult. To help in any tough roster decision you may be facing for your quarterbacks this week, I rank all the starting quarterbacks for this week from 1-30 based on how I think they will finish in standard scoring leagues.
