Fantasy Football Week 7 Sleepers: Brian Hoyer, Andre Holmes and others

Ray takes a look at some Week 7 sleepers that could help you win your fantasy matchup this week, including Brian Hoyer, Andre Holmes and others.

Gregory Shamus

This weekly feature will take a look at some sleepers at each position who could help fantasy teams win their weekly matchup. To determine the sleepers, I will be using the fantasy points allowed at each position statistics, courtesy of AsktheCommish.com.

For week 7, I will use the fantasy points allowed through the first seven weeks of the season, so we are getting a decent idea as to which team defenses are allowing the most fantasy points at each position.

Teams on bye: Eagles, Buccaneers

Sleeper Performance: Week 6

QB: Joe Flacco, Ravens vs Buccaneers - 21-29, 306 yards, 5 TDs

RB: Bishop Sankey, Titans vs Jaguars - 18 carries, 61 yards, 1 reception, 7 yards, 0 TDs

WR: Odell Beckham, Jr., Giants vs Eagles

TE: Owen Daniels, Ravens vs Jaguars - 2 receptions, 34 yards

Fantasy Points Allowed: Year to Date

Below you will find a table (courtesy of Ask the Commish) that lists, by team defense, the fantasy points each team defense has allowed to opposing quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers and tight ends.

I have selected my sleeper picks based on the fantasy points allowed through the first six weeks of the season, assuming the trend (allowing more fantasy points) continues.

Week 7 Sleepers

Quarterback

Brian Hoyer, Browns vs Jaguars

Hoyer has thrown for at least one touchdown pass in every game this season, and has thrown for 290 yards or more in two of his five starts. This week he gets to face the Jaguars, who have allowed an average of 20 points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season, ranking 31st against the pass and giving up two TD passes per game, on average.

Running Back

Justin Forsett, Ravens vs Falcons

The Falcons rush defense ranks 31st in the NFL, giving up an average of 141 yards rushing per game and a total of 12 rushing touchdowns. They also rank dead last in fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs this season, giving up an average of 29 points per game.

Wide Receiver

Andre Holmes, Raiders vs Cardinals

Holmes is coming off a very good game against the Chargers last week, catching 4 passes for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns. This week, he faces the Cardinals defense that has given up an average of 25 fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers through six games thus far.

Tight End

Larry Donnell, Giants vs Cowboys

The Cowboys defense gives up almost 12 points per game to opposing tight ends, and Giants tight end Larry Donnell is dangerous in the red zone. With WR Victor Cruz out for the season, QB Eli Manning could look to Donnell in the red zone more often going forward.
