So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen

Mark J. Rebilas-US PRESSWIRE

THE STORY OF FESTIVUS CHAPTER 4 THE AIRING OF GRIEVANCES AND FEATS OF STRENGTH SEINFELD (via apackerfan)

I kid, I kid. You all (the Fake Teams community) have been nothing but great to me. And yet, I'm leaving. I've accepted an internship with the Baseball Prospectus fantasy team. If you've read me even for a little while, you know how much I respect the Baseball Prospectus organization, and so to have a chance to be a part of it? I just couldn't pass it up.

All that said, my year and half+ here at Fake Teams has been an absolute pleasure for me. I had never written anywhere else, so I feel that this is where I grew up. You guys tolerated my rough starts and helped me grow as a writer, and I couldn't be more thankful. While joining BP is something of my own fantasy, it's still bittersweet for me. I hate to go and leave this pretty site. I'd be more upset though, if I knew you guys weren't in such good hands. Ray Guilfoyle is still leading the site, and he's been instrumental in my growth and success, and he'll continue to be for the strong contingent of writers on board.

Jason Hunt is leading the prospect coverage as he was when I joined and he gave me the freedom and support I needed. I know he'll do the same for rising stars Andrew Ball and Kevin Nielsen. Those three guys are no joke and provide some of the best and deepest prospect coverage around. I think the minor league coverage is a feature here at Fake Teams that separates them from other sites.

I try not to be too melodramatic, so I'll try to keep this short but trust me when I say the talent here at Fake Teams isn't taking much of a hit with me leaving. I've told this to the other writers, but it holds true to the community at large here. The pleasure has been all mine. I hope to see some of you over at BP, and I'm always available on twitter at @cdgoldstein. I'll also still be writing at The Dynasty Guru, so it's not like you won't get your fill of ole Craig Goldstein.

I will have two more articles coming out - one Tuesday and one Thursday before calling it quits here. So if you have two prospects you want me to write up, leave em in the comments. I might even listen.

Thanks for everything this past year and a half. It's meant the world to me.

-Craig
