The Streamer Report provides you with daily startng pitcher streaming selections for owners who prefer to stream starting pitchers on a daily basis. This report identifies starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN Yahoo leagues, and who either has a decent track record vs their opponent, has pitched well of late, or has a decent matchup.
Note: I don't actually play in any leagues on ESPN, so I am having a hard time accessing the ownership data, so while Ray is out I will be using Yahoo data.
Let's take a look at how my selections on Wednesday fared:
Wily Peralta at CHC - 5 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, L
Corey Kluber vs. CHW - 8.2 IP, 8 H, 4 ER, 0 BB, 6 K, ND
Jenrry Mejia at MIA - 6 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, L
Total Stats for Wednesday: 19.2 IP, 19 H, 10 ER, 3 BB, 15 K, 4.57 ERA, 1.12 WHIP
My other options, for the most part, actually look better than the ones I picked out. Oops.
Henderson Alvarez vs. NYM - 7.1 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 1 K, W
Kyle Kendrick vs. SF - 2 IP, 8 H, 6 ER, 1 BB, O K, L
Edwin Jackson vs. MIL - 8.1 IP, 8 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 4 K, W
Chad Gaudin at PHI - 7 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, W
Jeremy Guthrie at MIN - 6 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, W
Andrew Cashner vs. NYY - He's pitching at home, and I'm a sucker for the upside against a lineup which hasn't been exactly hitting great for a while now. Note that Curtis Granderson is expected to be activated for Friday's game, so that lineup will be slightly better than it has been.
Sam Deduno vs. HOU - It's not a great matchup, but he gets to pick on Houston at home, so I'll take my chances on that one.
Tom Gorzelanny vs. WAS - The Nationals have been ice cold, so this one is a shot in the dark based entirely on the lineup.
