Every other Wednedsay, I will be taking a quick look at some of the top prospects at the Low-A level, including their stats for for the season, and if anything stands out about the performance. The season stats may not always tell us the whole story, but there are usually also some updates on how they are doing these things as opposed to just the numbers themselves. All statistics are courtesy of Fangraphs.com, and are through the games of Monday, 6/3/13.

- Joey Gallo won the Sally League Home Run Derby on Monday night, and was also named the League's hitter of the week after hitting seven home runs last week. He's up to 22 on the season, although they come with 108 strikeouts and counting. I wrote an in-depth profile on Gallo last week.
- Craig wrote about Twins' prospect Niko Goodrum yesterday, who was activated from the disabled list earlier in the week as well.
- Among the top prospects hitting some of the short season leagues on the hitting side include Eric Jagielo (NYY), Manuel Margot (BOS), and Carson Kelly (STL). Over the Monster provided a quick update on their NY-Penn League affiliate, including Margot.
- The Dynasty Guru gave a look at his top 40 fantasy prospects from this year's draft, headlined by Cubs' draftee Kris Bryant.
- Bleed Cubbie Blue has a look at the team's short-season Northwest League affiliate in Boise. True Blue LA took a look at their Northwest League affiliate as well, Ogden.
- Power hitting first baseman Stetson Allie will be promoted after tonight's All-Star game, per Bucs Dugout.

- As we start to see a number of draft picks sign, it seems likely that we will see a lot of them sent to the short season and rookie leagues to start their professional careers. Twinkie Town noted yesterday that their top draft pick, Kohl Stewart, is in Minnesota with the intent to sign his contract.
- Mauricio Cabrera of the Braves was sent from their full-season affiliate to their Appy League affiliate.
- Rafael De Paula was promoted to High-A Charleston following the SAL All-Star game as well, and I'll be very interested to see what he can do at this level.
- Robert Stephenson unfortunately hit the disabled list this week, although you'd probably rather see the injury he has (hamstring strain) than something involving his throwing arm, but still not a happy moment last week.
- Among the top prospects assigned to the short season leagues are Cubs' top pitching prospects Duane Underwood and Paul Blackburn, Cardinals' 1st round pick Marco Gonzales, and Red Sox' draft pick from 2012, Ty Buttrey.
- A's Farm of Athletics Nation spoke with A's Scouting Director Eric Kubota about the most recent draft.
