The Streamer Report provides you with daily streaming starting pitcher selections for the fantasy owner who likes to stream starting pitchers in leagues with no innings cap. The report will identify starting pitchers who are owned in less than 50% of ESPN leagues, and who either have a decent track record vs their opponent, has pitched well of late, or has a good matchup.
Before I get to Wednesday's streamer selections, let's take a look at how my streamers performed on Monday:
Dillon Gee vs Braves - 8.1 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, BB, 5 K, L
Dan Straily vs Rangers - 4.2 IP, 8 H, 6 ER, BB, K
Combined stats: 13 IP, 13 H, 8 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, L, 5.54 ERA, 1.15 WHIP
Wednesday's Pitching Streamers
Rick Porcello vs Orioles
Why is Porcello only owned in 30.5% of ESPN leagues? Porcello is a different pitcher this season, as he is 4-3 with a 4.37 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 12 starts this season, but his overall stats don't tell the story. He has given up two runs or less in five of his last seven starts, and three runs or less in nine of his twelve starts this season. Take away his April 20th start, where he gave up 9 runs on 9 hits and a walk in 2/3rds of an inning, and his ERA is 3.25, while his WHIP droos to 1.01.
Kyle Kendrick vs Nationals
Kendrick is owned in 41% of ESPN leagues, and faces the struggling Nationals lineup on Wednesday night. He is having a solid season on the bump, going 6-4 with a 3.76 ERA and 1.29 WHIP, and has given up two runs or less in nine of his fourteen starts.
