Injuries
Carl Crawford injured his hamstring today. With Matt Kemp already on the DL they may decide to call up Yasiel Puig or Joc Pederson. Each would be worth an immediate pickup in all formats if you need outfield help. Matt Kemp should only miss 15 days on the DL.
Jon Niese should return to the Mets rotation next Friday. He missed some time with a shoulder injury and sometimes these types of injuries can reoccur or affect performance.
Brandon McCarthy will miss at least a couple weeks with a shoulder injury.
Hanley Ramirez is playing in minor league rehab games and will likely return early next week.
Pablo Sandoval has a foot injury and will miss the next week. It's possible that he will end up on the DL.
Bryce Harper will probably end up on the DL with a knee injury. He should be back once the 15 days are up.
Huston Street has a calf injury but will likely only miss a few days. I think Luke Gregerson will fill in for him as closer while he's out.
Stephen Strasburg injured his oblique yesterday and will likely be placed on the DL soon.
Jayson Werth should be back early next week from a knee injury.
Eric Chavez, in the midst of a solid season, will miss at least a few weeks with an oblique injury.
Corey Hart should begin a rehab assignment soon and make his return in a couple weeks.
Rafael Betancourt may end up on the DL with his groin injury likely resulting in Rex Brothers taking over at closer while he is out.
Call-ups
Randall Delgado will replace Brandon McCarthy in the Diamondbacks rotation. It would be smart to see how he performs first before adding him unless you play in an NL-only league.
Robbie Erlin is being called up to make one start tonight against the Blue Jays for Clayton Richard who was needed to pitch in last night's extra inning game.
Jacob Turner pitched well against the Mets yesterday and should be owned in most NL-only leagues.
Michael Wacha will be in the Cardinals rotation for the foreseeable future and is a must-add in pretty much all leagues in my opinion. With a solid offense behind him and an impressive first start the former first round pick is getting a lot of fantasy attention.
Notes
Matt Cain gave up seven earned runs today. I'm not worried about him and I think this makes him an even better buy-low candidate.
Anthony Rendon was promoted to AAA and will likely play second base everyday there. He could be called up and gain second base eligibility at some point.
Brandon League blew the save last night and it's possible he could be one more blown save away from losing his job to Kenley Jansen.
Ike Davis and B.J. Upton remain possibilities to get send down to AAA in the near future unless they can turn things around at the plate.
Chad Gaudin will start tomorrow against the Cardinals but it's not a favorable match-up. Gaudin would have questionable value, even for NL-only leagues, if moved to the rotation permanently.
